  • Amazing Makerspace!

    Funded Aug 28, 2023

Thank you for your generous support of our classroom. The students have been loving the Amazing Makerspace! We have used the materials to complete many different STEAM Challenges. We have also been able to mentor several 1st grade classrooms using the makerspace materials.

The students were so excited when all the boxes arrived. It was a surprise for them! Together, we assembled the STEAM cart and organized all the materials we received. The kids were so proud of their hard work.

We will continue to utilize the STEAM cart and all the amazing materials throughout the school year. We are hoping to reach out to more classrooms, and we are mentoring a Kindergarten classroom. Thank you for your support!”

  • Project Zero Waste 2022-2023

    Funded Nov 23, 2022

Thank you for your support of Project Zero waste, a Service-Learning project that educated students on the value of natural resources and introduced them to the 5 R's (Reduce, Reuse, Rot, Repurpose, Recycle). Students, not just in my classroom but other classrooms, have been learning about the journey of trash and the importance of landfills in our community.

Our goal was to start a waste reduction program at your school that is student-driven. The Service-Learning project integrated learning and community service. It helped us to develop civic engagement, school pride, and experience working with diverse members of the community.

Another resource we were able to obtain from our grant was Scholastic Super Science Magazine. The magazine allowed our students to participate in thrilling scientific adventures that explored life, earth and physical science, and engineering through amazing, real-world applications and kid-friendly topics.

We hope to contain our work, and we thank you for your support of our journey.”

  • Project Zero Waste

    Funded Nov 3, 2021

The students were so excited to receive our items for Project Zero Waste. They enjoyed opening the boxes and checking out all the new materials for their project. They were able to start composting at lunch time, and they collected recyclable materials to exchange for CRV. The students will be looking for new ways to help improve our school and community this new school year.

We appreciate your support of an invaluable program. The students and I want to say thank you for your generous donations that helped make this project come to life!”

Thank you for your generous donations! My classroom has been using the materials in a variety of ways. We have completed several engaging STEM challenges, we have learned more about science with some fun experiments that were purchased with your donation. Your donations have made science come to life!

At our school, we are in person for learning. The students work individually due to Covid regulations, but each student is given a lesson along with any supplies needed. We have been able to learn about weather, force, gravity, motion, adaptations, fossils, and so much more.”

  • Super Science for Fifth Graders!

    Funded Sep 23, 2019

I had my students create the impact statement, and they had much to say! First, it was a resounding thank you from everyone. The response to Super Science Magazine has been enthusiastic.

Kylie said - We have done so many amazing experiments and projects. Right now I am working on a light pollution report, and I am designing a new invention to help baby puffins be protected from light pollution.

Marco said - I have had so much fun reading about sloths, an ice palace, space, baby puffins, and dominos!

  • STEAM Magic With a Cricut Machine

    Funded Jun 22, 2019

    Our students

and I were thrilled to receive our Cricut Maker Machine. For our first project, we used it to cut out pieces for our STEAM Challenge. The students were creating pieces for our Mystery Science Project on water.

The students were very excited when I showed them all the materials we received. Many students had never seen a Cricut Machine in action. They had many ideas on how they could use it.

We will be using the Cricut Maker over the course of the year as part of our STEAM Lab. We will be cutting pieces for STEAM Challenges as well as for art projects that align to our Common CORE Standards. Thank you for your generous support of our classroom.”

  • Daily Math Fluency

    Funded Feb 17, 2019

Thank you very much your generous donations that allowed my classroom to purchase the program, "Daily Math Fluency". We have been able to work each day to improve our number sense and conceptualization through the use of the program.

My students were elated to receive math goodies for the classroom. They were engaged when working together with the new program. The math students have enjoyed using the magnetic pieces -- it has been fun to have something new and exciting!

Daily Math Fluency includes 180 days of instruction designed to develop numeracy and the ability to use mathematical relationships to reason with numbers and numerical concepts. I look forward to implementing the program next year, for the entire school year.”

  • Makey Makey Some Magic!

    Funded Apr 30, 2018

Thank you for your generous support of our Makey Makey project. The kids were ecstatic when they saw the new tools that they would get to work with. There was a buzz in the STEAM lab.

Your donation allowed me to bring this technology to over 400 4th and 5th grade

students. The students were able to turn everyday objects into touchpads and combine them with the Internet.

The easy to use invention kits will enable the students to create, invent, and imagine for many years to come! We are so excited to see what else we can do!”

My students are in public elementary school and will be transitioning to public middle school after this year. They are a diverse group, coming from many cultural backgrounds. My 5th graders are eager learners, and they enjoy integrating technology into reading. I am also the Robotics Team Coordinator as my school site. Five years ago, I founded the robotics program for 4th and 5th graders. The program is run solely by volunteers and donations.
