Si se puede! Yes they can! I know that each and every one of my first graders will be successful dual language learners. I teach first grade dual languages students in a diverse community. Many of my students come from low-income backgrounds. My children come from a mix of English-speaking and Spanish-speaking households, and in my classroom they are all working towards the goal of speaking, reading and writing both English and Spanish! They amaze me and make me proud every single day!
