  • Outdoor Recess Fun

    Funded Nov 29, 2023

Thank you so much for your generosity. During recess, each class must be in a different area. One area is the basketball court. The kids appreciate the new basketballs to play with. Another area is an open field with a run-down baseball field. The kids have learned how to play kickball and enjoy those balls and the bases. Other students will kick the soccer balls around. The bag was a great help to carry some of the equipment outside. Without this equipment, my students would just be standing around. Unfortunately, I have been on FMLA for surgery, so I could not attain pictures of the students outside playing with the equipment.

    Thank you again.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. James

  • New Room, New Storage

    Funded Nov 29, 2023

Thank you very much for supporting my classroom. The storage unit helps me stay more organized and file important documents for my students. The two top drawers allow me to store items I do not want to be seen and even paper for the copier. I needed a drawer where I could file papers and this storage unit made that possible with the bottom drawer. It is very expensive to fund a classroom on your own, especially when the building is over 70 years old. Thank you again for your gracious donation.”

  • Back to the Basics

    Funded Aug 19, 2023

Thank you so much for your generosity. Your donation helped me supply basic items to my students at the beginning of the school year so that they started out on the right path! The new teacher's scissors were great and helped me cut things out for class and my students.

The markers are perfect and I use them to make anchor charts.

The desk caddies are also a great addition to my classroom. The caddies hold pencils, gluesticks, pencil-tip erasers, highlighters, and 4 packs of colored pencils. Student scissors are placed in there when needed.

    Thank you again.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. James

  • Starting Off Successfully

    Funded Aug 23, 2023

Thank you so much for your generosity. Your donation helped me get a notebook for each student in my class for each subject with a few to spare. The headphones are wonderful because we have two programs we use every day that help the students remediate in Reading and Math that makes sounds and the students need the headphones so they can work on these programs independently when they are finished with their work.

The pencil holder is very decorative and makes the job of "pencil sharpener" very easy for any student.

The parent communication folder has been a must in my classroom. My students and parents love them. I put my information inside the front cover and anything that can stay at home goes on the left and anything that needs to be returned goes on the right. It is easy to communicate with parents and easy to follow. Thank you again!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. James

  • The Writing Process

    Funded Sep 25, 2023

Thank you so much for your donations to our Writing Folders. These folders allow our students to file their writing into each step of the writing process while clearly identifying each step.

The folders also contain helpful tidbits for the students to use along with checklists. The folders contain definitions of each step of the writing process along with bulleted hints and guides to prompt students. There are lists such as: commonly misspelled words, synonyms and antonyms, and proofreading checklists.

We look forward to using the folders all year long.”

  • Teachers Supporting Teachers

    Funded Aug 18, 2023

Thank you so much for the donation towards the Teachers Pay Teachers Gift Card. It was really helpful for me when I was able to purchase items for my small reading groups. The items can be used over and over again with your groups if you laminate them. You can find so many different skills to help you teach to your students. I love using this site because so many teachers have created items based on skills, subject areas, and grade levels. Teachers Pay Teachers has many items that you can print or use via Google. By purchasing these items that teachers created, you are also helping teachers.”

  • Turn a 75 Year-Old Chalkboard Into a Whiteboard

    Funded Aug 2, 2023

Thank you so much for your donation to help transform my chalkboard into a whiteboard. The chalkboard was unusable and a big ugly waste of space.

With the Post-It White Board Peel and Stick the room looks so much nicer especially since the building is 75 years old. I love using the different colored dry-erase markers on the board. The holders for the markers are also a great addition as well. They fit perfectly at the bottom of the board sitting where chalk used to sit. I love the different colors and the the board is easy to clean.

Without donations, I would never be able to fund my classroom.”

  • Indoor Recess Fun

    Funded Jan 12, 2023

Thank you so much for your contributions towards "Indoor Recess Fun." This project allowed me to purchase games and activities for my students at a Title I School to play with during their recess when we were stuck inside during the cold winter months and while it is rainy outside.

The students were so excited when they saw different versions of UNO. They love playing the different types and even taught me how to play.

There was a large mat for checkers, Jenna, and Connect 4. Students enjoyed playing these games, but also learned to share and understand the value of good sportsmanship.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. James

  • Flexible and Comfortable Seating

    Funded Aug 29, 2022

Thank you for your donation towards my flexible seating project. My main goal was to establish a more inviting place for students to work in small groups with me at my table.

The colorful stools are different than the chairs they sit in at their desks and they like to sit in different things around the room. The stools are sturdy and fit perfectly under the table allowing the students to join me at the table and work in small groups. They are a perfect height for the students.

The stools stack up at the end of the day, leaving the classroom easily accessible for cleaning.

Thank you again for your generosity.”
