Wow! What a great email to receive today. Thank you to everyone that donated to the project to grow our classroom library with these SSR books. I can't wait to share them with the class when they arrive.

My deepest thanks to all of you. I'm so grateful.”

My students will be thrilled to have these books available starting Day 1. Again, thank you!”

  • Blocks Rock!

    Funded May 13, 2019

I can't begin to thank you for your support, encouragement and participation in my student's education. The excitement they have for these blocks is infectious. The way they work as a team and how they encourage one another is something we should all strive to be better at doing. I often overhear conversations on the playground about who they want to challenge next or strategies they can use the next time we "play" with this amazing resource.

They are learning while having fun! Who doesn't want to do to that?! A bonus is a student asked his grandparents for these as a birthday present. That learning will continue without limits.

I'm so blessed to have partners in education who genuinely care about kids and want to help in every way possible. My students and I appreciate all you do for us - on and off DonorsChoose. Again, thank you so much for helping us out!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Buchanan

  • Alternative Seating Options

    Funded May 11, 2017

I can't begin to say how grateful and appreciative my class and I are for your donations. The wobble chairs have been used, shared and bragged about on a daily basis. "The green one is my favorite!" "This one really helps me focus. Can I use it everyday?" Words like this make my day and my face hurt from smiling.

It's the little things that can make a difference in the life of a child that needs a little help to focus. You, the donors, did that for the kids in my classroom. We will be forever grateful for your help.”

  • Wiggle Wiggle Learn!

    Funded Sep 12, 2016

Our packages arrived at dismissal so their interest was very high as they left for the day. First thing the next morning, we opened the packages to ohhh's and ahhhh's and great squeals of excitement. Their discussions were filled with suggestions of where they need to be in our classroom, how they are going to help us follow directions and "Hey! My Mom and Dad helped get these for us!" They have a palpable sense of pride and ownership that makes our classroom even more of a home for all of us.

The most often heard comment throughout the day now is "Can I please read on the Wiggle Chair?" It isn't a request to just sit on this amazing chair but to READ there. I can't begin to explain how happy, and completely full, that makes my teacher heart. This classroom of readers are enthralled and encouraged even more than before because of the generosity of all of you. Even the most reluctant readers are showing improvement in their reading levels because they are spending more time reading - all because of the wiggle chairs.

The most often heard question now is 'When can we get more of these?" When I first considered a donors choose project I never dreamed how much love, kindness, encouragement and support would be poured upon my project and my classroom, or how quickly it would happen. Overwhelmed still doesn't cover all the emotions! So maybe the next step is to answer that question. With your help, anything is possible.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Buchanan

Being able to focus on the task at hand can be a daily, even hourly, struggle for some students. Having to concentrate on not tipping your chair over instead of the concepts being taught can be overwhelming for some students. A simple seating alternative can be the difference between a feeling of accomplishment and a struggle to learn. Imagine being able to remove one burden for some students in our classroom. These stools are a proven aid for children who struggle to be still while learning. Being able to finish a task in a timely fashion will bring a sense of relief and a greater sense of accomplishment for these children.
