Potty Training Basics
Funded Dec 16, 2022Thank you for your support of this project. It is wonderful to have extra panties and pants for those children who are potty training. Accidents happen but having extra on hand make it much easier to continue the potty-training process.
Those children potty training were excited to see the different underwear that arrived. They helped me to fold and put it away. We talked about the different pairs of underwear, and which were girls/boys and how if they were wearing, they would want to keep them clean.
Thank you again for your help in making this project a reality. It is greatly appreciated!”

Funded Dec 20, 2022Thank you for your support by helping to fund this grant. We appreciate your willingness to help us supply new block people for our classroom.
When the box of people arrived the children were excited to see what was inside. As I slowly pulled out each and set down the children would pick up the people and say, "That looks like me or that looks like....".
The people are now in our block area and the children enjoy pretending with them each day. The children know how many of each size person there is and will count to make sure they have all.
Thank you for your support!”

Funded Nov 30, 2022Thank you for your help in supporting our youngest learners and learning how to support their big emotions. When the supplies arrived each of the children had an opportunity to "try" out the materials in a learning environment together. Now the materials are in a quiet space that when the children complete each step they end in the safe place.
If a child is overwhelmed or unable to regulate themselves an adult will support a child by walking them through each step of the Calm Down series. Typically, once a child follows through each step, they are calmer and are learning to regulate their emotions. Once emotions are regulated the child is able to return and participate in the class.
We appreciate your support!”

Funded Aug 9, 2022Thank you for your support of our classroom and allowing the children the independence when it comes to drinking water. Currently our drinking fountains do not work in our classroom due to COVID, the water bottles allow the children to get water when they want.
In the past the children have had to ask the adults for water. Now with the water bottles the children are able to get water when they want. Besides giving the children the opportunity for independence, the water bottles also allow the children the opportunity to work on their fine motor skills. The children have to use two hands to twist the lids off the bottles so they can fill them.
Thank you for your support of our youngest learners!”

Funded Sep 20, 2022The materials arrived over the course of two days and the children were super excited to see what was in the boxes each day. I couldn't get the boxes open quick enough for some of the children. As soon as the learning materials were put on the table the children were busy checking them out.
Right now, I am adding the materials to the table for use during our "worktime" which is the children's free choice play time. The children are able to move around the room at this time and choose what materials they would like to explore. These materials have been full every day they have been out.
The materials in this grant are open-ended but have a purpose. It has been fun to watch the children explore the material and to see what they are able to do with it. The food allowed the children the opportunity to "practice" with a knife (plastic) while the stacking tower was great because the children had to figure out which block was the biggest/smallest. After the children have explored the material for a little while longer, I am going to create an area of the classroom dedicated to the Montessori material. I will also add placemats for the children to use as mats/boundary to use the materials on their own.
We appreciate your support of our youngest learners!”

Funded Aug 4, 2022Thank you for your support of our classroom! We are currently using the notebooks as fine motor journals for my three- to five-year-old students. The journals help the children learn and grow at their level. Each journal is different.
When the notebooks arrived the children were given the opportunity to pick which color of notebook they wanted. When the children pick their colors, it helps to give them ownership of the notebook. When they feel ownership, they are more likely to the work and take pride in what they do.
Each child starts the school year with a folder but those quickly become torn or missing, having a backup for those students that need them has been very helpful.
Your support of our classroom is greatly appreciated by the children and by me! THANK YOU!”

Funded Feb 12, 2022Thank you for your support of our classroom! The books arrived and the children were super excited to see what was in the box. As soon as we opened the box the children delved right in and started looking at the pictures in the books.
Over the course of the semester, we read many of the books during our read-aloud time. The children enjoyed seeing books that they were able to relate to. The books also help the children to feel connected to the classroom and each other. I enjoyed having the opportunity to share new information with the children. It is also important to me that the children each feel represented in the classroom. These books are books that do that! They give the children a sense of belonging. After reading together the books are placed in either a center in the classroom or the classroom library. This allowed the children the opportunity to explore when they wanted to.
Your support is greatly appreciated!”

Funded Feb 22, 2022Thank you for your donation to our Books, Books, Books project! The books have been used in a variety of projects. We started by adding new books to different centers in the classroom. The children were able to explore the books on their own before and after we read them allowed as a class.
Each child was also able to pick a new book several times throughout the school year to take home and add to their own collection at home. The children enjoyed having the opportunity to pick out a book that they themselves wanted.
Finally, the books were used as a reward on the prize wheel. Children would spin the wheel and if it landed on book the children would win a book of their choice. Again, the children enjoyed having the say over which book they were able to choose to add to their home library.”

Learning at Home Activities
Funded Nov 15, 2021Thank you for your support of our classroom and fun projects! Our Learning at Home resources arrived towards the end of the school year, so the children didn't have much time with them.
When the materials arrived the children were super excited to open the boxes and see what was inside! The children had time to explore what was in the bags at school during scheduled play.
The bags will be set to for families to check out starting the first part of the next school year. Families will be able to check out the bags that they feel their child needs to work on. I am excited to be able to provide this opportunity to expand on the children's learning at school at home. The materials will be used to enrich, review, or reinforce what the children are learning at school.
Your donation is greatly appreciated for me to provide this opportunity for the children and families.”

Mrs. Angie
