  • Little People + Big Emotions

    Funded Dec 20, 2024

Thank you for your support of our young learners. The children have really enjoyed having the opportunity to use the materials when they are upset but also when they just need a moment. Most of the material sets in one location of our classroom, the Safe Place, so the children are able to access the materials when they want/need them.

There are times when I will see several children sitting down with the calm down book working through the different pages, they may not know what the book is doing for them but I do.

Emotional regulation is so hard at this age for some children so having the materials for them to explore when upset but also when not upset has been crucial.

Thank you again for your support of our students.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Angie

  • Books Loved by All

    Funded Dec 19, 2024

Thank you for your generous donation to our project. The children have enjoyed having new books and additional copies of books that we already had in the classroom. Having multiple copies of books help for various reasons. First multiple children can read the books at the same time or a child can look at the pictures while an adult is reading the book to the whole class.

I have slowly added the books into our daily library rotation which has been fun for the children. Their faces light up when they see the new books. The best part is when two children are exploring the books together.

Thanks again for your support of our early learners.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Angie

  • Fine Motor Journal Fun

    Funded Aug 15, 2024

Thank you for your support of our youngest learners and the continued need to develop their fine motor muscles. My students are between the age of 3-5 and at very ability levels for writing.

We are using the material in this grant to continue to find fun ways for the children to work on their writing skills. Young children need multiple ways to develop their writing skills. The items in this grant allow the children to do just that.

When I pull out the fine motor journals and the basket of stickers, markers, crayons, tape, etc. they all ask to come work with me.

Thank you again for your support.”

  • Writing Is Fun—Using LCD Boards in Preschool!

    Funded Aug 15, 2024

Thank you for supporting our youngest learners in their growth! Writing with many of my young students can be tough so having fun ways for them to challenge themselves in writing is often my goal.

The LCD board is small and easily transportable allowing us to take them and use them in a variety of locations. We have used them while waiting for pictures to be taken and even took them on a field trip with us to use while waiting between activities.

The children get excited when drawing on the boards because they change colors and they have control of locking the screen or not.

Thank you for your support! It is greatly appreciated.”

  • Life Experiences Through Play

    Funded Jul 12, 2024

Thank you for your support of this project! Since the day the box arrived the children have been excited about the materials. There is not a day goes by that someone isn't using the mops and brooms to "clean" the classroom floor or mailing a letter to a friend. The dollhouse furniture is a big hit as well.

In preschool we try to set up everyday experiences for children to learn. Having child size supplies make that a possibility for the children. Our hopes is they are learning life skills while playing.

We will continue to use the materials in a variety of fun ways but also use the mailbox during our community helper's unit and learn about mailing a letter.

Thank you for your support of our young learners. Your support is greatly appreciated!!!”

  • Hands-on Math Learning

    Funded May 24, 2024

Thank you for your support of our classroom! Having your support on this grant has allowed us a fun way for the children to work on math concepts. For the children they think they are playing but the adults are able to use the activities as a way to assess the children. Anytime we can do the assessment through authentic activities the better!

We already have literacy kits so the children were excited when the kits arrived and unpackaged. They knew what to expect and were able to jump right in and do the activities.

We continue to use the file folder activities weekly in the classroom both as a learning experience and as an assessment experience.

Your support of our classroom is greatly appreciated!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Angie
