  • Uke Can Do It!

    Funded Oct 18, 2017

These books and the electric ukulele have really sparked an excitement in our students. The books have provided a great variety into our repertoire. From daily exercises, games, classics, to modern pop songs, there's something for each student in each grade level. The upper grades are able to play songs from multiple books each class. The lower grades enjoy being able to sing along to songs they know. We've also been able to use the electric ukulele in two programs already and will be using it for several more this year. Thank you for helping me transform our class and providing these great resources.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Ramos

  • Boom Goes the Drums

    Funded Sep 6, 2017

First of all thank you so much for your generosity. Our students were so excited when we opened up the instruments. To see how colorful the instruments are and how easy they are to use really excited the students. They were able to use them immediately. We played several songs that first day and have been learning different songs every week. We've used them to work on rhythms, differentiate between rhythm and beat and worked on counting rhythms. We are currently learning how to play Deck The Halls using the instruments. We have also used them to emphasize different science and math principles. Once again thank you so much for your generosity and for bringing smiles to our students.”

    Mr. Ramos

  • Bang On The Drum All Day

    Funded Oct 24, 2012

Thank you so much for your generosity. We are truly thankful for the amazing gift your gave us. Our music classroom has completely changed. Students come in excited to play the new instruments. We have been able to learn new rhythms, compose our own rhythms, do drum circles and accompany many of our songs. We have also used the instruments to work on our multiplication facts and skip counting thus, making math very fun for the students.

Since most of the school's budget has been used in preparing for our state test, the budget for the music department has been drastically reduced. This donation was much needed to upgrade our music program and infuse new energy in the students.

Again, thank you so much for giving to our program. Your kindness is truly appreciated.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Ramos

My school is a Title 1 school where the majority of the student population is Hispanic. 99% of the students are on free and reduced lunch and many come from single parent families. The school offers enrichment classes in art, music, science and health fitness. Our music program focuses on learning music concepts through instruments. We use percussion instruments, recorders, ukuleles, and pianos. Students are eager to learn and need more exposure to different instruments.
