This classroom project was brought to life by TOON Books and one other donor.BrainPop for Science and English Language Learners
Funded Oct 6, 2016The Brain Pop subscription has transformed by classroom. All students are able to access the curriculum and information being taught, especially since the subscription included an English Language Learner program to help my level 1 and level 2 students who are in the beginning stages of learning English in a Science classroom.
We were able to use the program as a whole class for instruction and checking student understanding about various Science topics related to our curriculum standards. I also used the program at an individual level when Chromebooks were available to have my English Language Learners use Brain Pop to practice their language skills in Science and other content areas.
We also used the Brain Pop lessons to further Science instruction through hands-on, engaging activities.
Thank you for your contribution!”

Captions For Cochlear Implants And English Language Learners
Funded Nov 9, 2015Thank you so much for your generous donation! Your donation allowed me to purchase educational informational videos that I use throughout the year in my classroom. I have a student with a cochlear implant and another student with hearing aids and they need captions any time that I show a video. I also have a large English Language Learner population throughout my four Science classes. The captions in the videos are helping the students to make connections between the language being spoken in the video and the words on the screen. Your donation is helping me to reach and teach all student learners.”

Interactive Science Notebooks
Funded Sep 11, 2015Thank you again for your donation! I received enough notebooks and other materials for all of my students to participate in the Interactive Science Notebook project for this year. Students have already begun to use the notebooks and make them their own. They view themselves as "scientists" and are excited to learn and explore in my classroom. In their Interactive Notebooks, they are learning note taking skills, study skills, how to record and graph data and are improving their vocabulary through fun foldable activities.”

Exciting Science Exploration!
Funded May 9, 2012Dear Donors,
Thank you for your generous donation to my classroom to help me get the supplies requested. These materials have impacted my students on a daily basis. The science games and other items have allowed my students to have hands-on and interactive experiences in my science classroom. These supplies have helped me to provide differentiating instruction techniques to meet the needs of all student learners.
These experiences have had a positive effect on my students' learning as they all learn in various ways.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Tufo
