Funded May 1, 2021Thank you so much for your donation. Your gift allowed me as a teacher to create a safe environment during these difficult times. I was able to purchase plexi-glass for each student desk, which helped keep everyone safe and made parents feel reassured.
I was also able able to purchase plexiglass for my kidney table to use during small group instruction. As educators we make the most impact during small group, differentiated instruction and the plexiglass kidney table dividers made a huge impact in keeping us all safe and learning.
My students and I really appreciate your help and support. Your donation kept us healthy and safe during these difficult times.
We thank you for your kindness and generosity.”

Engaging & Interactive Digital Resources
Funded Mar 20, 2021Thank you so much for your generosity. Your donation has made virtual learning much more accessible for my students. I was able to purchase interactive power-points and learning games for language arts to use during virtual learning. I used them as materials for guided lessons. I was also able to assign differentiated digital material to my students in order to differentiate instruction and give students the targeted practice they needed or to challenge them.
I was also able to purchase materials for mathematics and they made a huge difference in student comprehensibility and student achievement. I used them in the same manner. As a teacher tool for guided instruction when introducing concepts and also as independent practice in order to differentiate instruction.
My students and I thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts. Your donations have made such a huge impact and difference during these times.
Thank you once again for your generosity.”

Funded Jun 25, 2020Thank you all so much for helping me fund my project. Now that we have returned to school physically, at least for part of my students, these folders have made organizing learning easy and safe.
My students and I mainly use the folders as a way to organize student weekly assignments and work for the week in Science, Math, Reading and Writing. We use the green folders for any Math activities, games or learning assignments. Each student receives their folder with their activities for each day of the week, they complete their work and then turn them in on Friday. I grade their work, disinfect and replace the activities and work with new ones for the following week. We use the blue folder for science, the red for reading activities and the yellow for writing. I follow the same exact procedure as described to refill, grade, reassign and disinfect the other content folders.
My students love these folders because they can keep their work organized and they know what is assigned after each direct lesson. I really like and appreciate this folders because I can easily wipe them and disinfect them. This for me has been so reassuring and has kept myself and all my students safe from COVID.
Thank you all for your kindness and generosity. My first graders and I really appreciate all the love and support, especially during this challenging times. Your generous donations helped me keep my students learning and safe. For this I'm eternally grateful.”

Funded Sep 17, 2020Thank you so much for helping me fund this project for art materials. My students love using all the art materials they received because of their kindness. They received color pencils, oil pastels, water colors, and white art paper to use during our art lessons.
We are a STEAM school and I struggled teaching my art lessons because my students did not have the materials needed for art. Since they received their art supplies we have painted realistic owls, the American Flag, a leaves and fall portrait, parts of a flower for science/art class, and a self portrait. I have also been able to teach about different artist and we are just finishing our Picasso-Cubism Art Unit. The kids have learned about abstract arts and have painted an abstract cubist art piece, a Picasso Turkey for Thanksgiving and we will conclude our unit with painting a Picasso Face-Self Portrait.
With the art materials you provided, I have been able to give my students the opportunity to explore different art elements such as drawing with different lines, exploring shades and warmths of color, mixing colors, and learning about positive/negative space and texture. We have art lessons every. Friday and call it Artsy Friday. My first graders enjoy working on different art pieces and these materials have enriched the art program and experiences I can provide for my students. My little first graders and I, thank you from the bottom of our hearts.”

Funded Sep 16, 2020Thank you so much for helping me fund my "Engineers in Need of Building Materials"! Because of your kindness, I was able to provide a variety of engineering materials to my first graders. I put the plastic straws (thick and thin), craft sticks, play dough and tape in an engineering baggie for each of my first graders and we've been using every Wednesday for Engineering Wednesdays. These items are used to build structures and for challenges and then students save and recycle the materials for another challenge.
We are a STEAM school and teaching engineering virtually with no materials for my students was challenging. With the materials you provided, my students have experienced a variety of Engineering Challenges. They have build the tallest towers, the strongest structure, beam bridges and truss bridges, the tallest Christmas tree along with many other challenges. They have used these materials for STEAM projects where they helped the Gingerbread Man escape and they built rafts, zip-lines, speed boats, hot air balloons etc.
The impact that you have made in my class is deep and has made learning for my firsties so much fun! They look forward to Engineering Wednesdays and love the challenges. They enjoy building and using their creativity to find creative solutions to problems. Thank you again for your kindness. My first graders and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts.”

Funded Sep 16, 2020Thank you so much for helping me fully fund my project "Interactive Whiteboards, Please!" My students love using their interactive whiteboards! We literally use them all day long. The ability to provide these white boards to each and everyone of my students has allowed for me to provide a more interactive program where I can check for understanding on the spot. We play lots of games and the whiteboard is the way the kids share their answers. We use our white board during our Phonics lessons to spell words, make words which provided the kids more independent practice when learning a new skill.
We also use the white boards for reading comprehension and after reading our literary stories, fictional or non-fiction, we use the white boards to create thinking organizers. The students retell the stories we read on their white board or write a quick summary of their new learning. We compare and contrast stories and use the whiteboard to summarize our learning. The time of the day we use the white boards the most is probably during Math time. The kids love to answer their word problems and solve them on their whiteboards. Then they get to share their mathematical thinking and explain their solutions using their whiteboards as their guide.
Thank you so much for your help funding this project! You have made a great difference in the virtual instruction I can provide to my little first graders. My kids are more engaged because lessons are more interactive with the whiteboards. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.”

Funded Dec 4, 2019Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts for your generosity. All of the hands-on mathematics materials you funded have been helping my first graders make learning more comprehensible and fun.
We've been using the 100's manipulative charts to practice of number sense and numbers base ten standards. Students have been working with a partner, taking turns, and describing the groups on tens and ones and explaining why that 2 digit number specifically lives in that space of the 100's chart. Ex: 52, 52 have 5 groups of ten, which is 50 and 2 ones. So 10, 20, 30,40,50 plus 2= 52. This is where 52 lives.
We have also been using the number dice and dotted dice for many fun Math Games. Board Games that review addition and subtraction, Cover It Up Board Games and using the dice for addition and subtraction games. We also use the Stack & Build numbers sense kit and the Addition Learning Locks Game as a center for the students during our math group rotations to review Fact Families. The number lines and the ten frame student kits, are being used by my students in our Fun Math station where they are using the number lines as one of the mathematical tools they can use to solve their math problems.
Thank you so much for helping me provide all of these wonderful, math resources for my kiddos. It's made a huge difference in the availability of hands-on manipulatives and centers during my small group math rotations. You have made a big difference in the lives of my first graders. Because of your kindness, you've helped them become better, more confident mathematicians.”
