Color My World
Funded Aug 17, 2023When my students and I saw the box, opened it and pulled out the ecotank Epson color printer, we were stunningly surprised. From that moment our broad smiles widened. We are very grateful!
Our illustrations and our writing assignments come out in vivid color. It makes us feel like professional authors and illustrators. Sometimes our teacher will let us have two copies, so that we can take one home to our loved ones, share with a friend or another teacher and keep one in the classroom. We couldn't have done it without people like you who truly care.”

Learning in Style
Funded Mar 1, 2019When the students opened the boxes and took out the resources, the look of content was evident from as far a you could see. The children were cheering and smiling. We took pictures, celebrated, and right away they were begging to use the lap desks and stools.
The students are ecstatic as they learn in style. When they sit with their desk trays on the cushions or sit on the stools you can tell by their smiles how happy they are. We alternate usage and rotate fairly. Every single day the items are used! When I have children from other classes come in for "Writing Camp" they excitedly ask if they can use the flexible seating. Even other teachers are asking me about where and how I acquired the items. Thanks to the generous donations given by Donors Choose, caring people, and CEO of corporations are these dreams able to come to life.”

Funded Oct 28, 2018Thank you so much for your generosity that made our flexible seating possible! The children and I are extremely blessed and happy! Look at our beautiful accent chair, whitewashed table, stools, and cushions! We are learning, interacting, conferencing, and our self esteem continues to rise. We are ver grateful! Thank you!
Today we received the accent chair that compliments the table. Throughout the day the students took turns to sit in the library corner. Many others used the stools, while the rest used the cushions during small group instructional activities. We are more excited than ever about reading and writing. We are going to put everything to great use. Thank you again and again.”

Funded Nov 29, 2017The excitement in the children's faces left a heartwarming feeling in my heart. As we opened each puzzle and each child put together one by one of them before putting them back carefully on the rack. Every single day when it's time to pick the center as many as five children choose puzzles while others will go to the house, art area where they enjoy the construction paper that was generously provided, block area, or any other activities that are available. You should see the look of satisfaction when each puzzle is put together! Each child gets so excited and one might say, "I did it!" While another might tap an adult or peer with a wide smile. Thank you for making it possible by giving the gift of learning, caring, and for your generosity.”

This classroom project was brought to life by PNC Grow Up Great® and 5 other donors.Slowly But Surely Wins the Race
Funded Mar 24, 2017Your generous donations have helped most of our students learned how to use a mouse. They use it to work, play, and learn with the Waterford software program provided by the MDCPS district. The keyboard came in handy because two of the ones in the classroom are not functioning. At the time it was only one, but with time two of them gave out.
The ink toners were sent and at the vendor (STAPLES ADVANTAGE) it was advertised to be the correct size for the DELL E525w and it will not work. At first I thought it was just a defective CYAN cartridge so I bought an additional one and paid out of my pocket. At Staples they won't correct the problem because it was from STAPLES ADVANTAGE and not bought from the store. STAPLES ADVANTAGE would need a receipt which I don't have, so I don't know what else to do because the toners were very expensive and bought through your generous gifts.
The PASSPORT has been so useful to keep the students' Waterford reports for the parents. We appreciate your continuous contributions that make a world of difference.”

Let's Learn
Funded Feb 28, 2017Thank you so much on behalf of the Prekindergarten SPED students and the adults in the classroom that consists of a teacher and a paraprofessional. Your generous donation of the DELL touchscreen computer gives more accessibility to the learners. The touchscreen computer allows the three and four year old students who are not quite ready for the mouse select their responses. We use Waterford SmartStart daily and when I look at the class progress reports, it shows the overall usage growing until eventually we will reach the usage goal per student.”

Eager Beavers Learning Centers
Funded Jan 26, 2016Thank you very much for your generous contributions that made our classroom project a reality. When the boys and girls saw the colorful bins with lids, the learning games, puzzles, magnetic letters, plus all of the other treasures their eyes lit up with such a spark and big wide smiles covered their faces. First, I introduced the items in each bin and how they were to be used. Rules were established by the children coming up with great ideas like sharing and taking turns. Next, we broke into groups and started cooperative learning with a timer running so that each group would rotate to the next learning station. Ever since, the boys and girls play and learn academically and socially.”

i-Ready Wall of Fame
Funded Jan 26, 2016Since our kindergarten class received the additional computer, the i-Ready wall of fame winners have increased dramatically. Children are even coming to school early to see if they can get first choice of using the Dell touch screen computer. The boys and girls have grown in the areas of phonological awareness, phonics, high-frequency words, vocabulary, and comprehension. Monthly prizes are given to every child that completes 12 passed lessons with a total pass rate of 70% or above. I am proud to say that for the month of March of this school year, my A.M. group had 100% of the students win the prizes and the P.M. group has shown growth, too.”
