Rebus Readers
Funded Jan 1, 2020My students and I would like to thank you so much for your generosity. I can't begin to tell you what it means to these kids to have rebus readers at their fingertips! They are sweet, hard-working, highly intelligent kids who sometimes just need a little boost, and you are all part of that for them. They will be so excited when I tell them our project was funded! Again, thank you, and we will send you pictures when we begin our reading! Our classroom is a better place because of your awesome contribution.”

Let's Hear It!
Funded Mar 27, 2018My students love having a listening center in our classroom. It has really encourage students who normally don't like to read, pick up a book and listen to the story being read to them. This makes me so happy. These same students can now listen to the same story over and over by choice! Students now have more models of language when they listen to narrated stories.
During Language Arts, I can assign a book to listen to and we can all have a deeper discussion about it because it allows my less fluent readers to revisit the story and helps their comprehension. During independent time, students can select their own stories to listen to.
We are so grateful to donors like yourself who help learning become engaging, fun and possible. Thank you for helping me offer different learning experiences to my students. I know together we have begun to foster the love of reading in my students.”

Mrs. Samperio
This classroom project was brought to life by Ripple.Make It Sharp!
Funded Dec 4, 2017I received my two sharpeners right before we went on winter break so I decided to surprise my students with the sharpeners when they came back from winter break.
I wish you could have witnessed the joy in my students' faces when I gave them the news that our sharpeners had been delivered to our classroom. Since we began using the sharpeners, students have spent less time worrying about finding a sharpened pencil and more time on their actual work. Every morning we have one student sharpen pencils so that everyone has one plus extras in case of emergencies. My students are not fighting or finding excuses not to do their work. The are ready to learn with their pencil at hand.
Again, we want to thank you so much for your generosity. It is amazing how something so little as a sharpener can cause such and impact in my classroom. Today my students are ready to learn and create because of your awesome contribution.”

This classroom project was brought to life by DICK'S Sporting Goods Foundation - Sports Matter and 2 other donors.Let's Build It
Funded Mar 17, 2017Thank you so much for your support and believing in our classroom! The students will really benefit from these Legos. They love having the opportunity to be creative! They have arrived and as you can see we couldn't wait any longer start using them. We unpacked the boxes and explored the new colors and sizes. We were able to create some of the suggested designs and get acquainted with the process of building. Next we will begin integrating them into our reading activities and math problem solving activities. Donors like you make it possible for me to do my job effectively. Thank you for your contribution and giving my students this opportunity!”

"Our Classroom Is But A Canvas To Our Imagination"
Funded Mar 9, 2016I can't begin to express my excitement and gratitude for your donation to my project. Your donation will help teach children important values like compassion, empathy, respect, and responsibility for other living things, as well as give them much-needed leadership skills and stress relief.
The tools that you have funded will provide my students with first-hand knowledge and experiences. They will be able to create and explain their own concepts with concrete tools, which will associate to the abstract. In addition, my students will be able to just have fun while learning about animals and their habitats.
I hope to share this new experience with my students and colleagues. Thank you so much. I can't wait to introduce these tools to the children.”

Let's Hear It!
Funded Dec 16, 2014My students and I are extremely grateful for your kindness. Thank you very much for sharing my vision and fostering reading for my struggling readers. These resources have already begun to make a difference in our learning.
Use of audio recordings have allowed me to begin to differentiate my reading instruction. My students are listening to an audio recording of a text selection, following along as the audio reads the selection, and then reading the text independently. Since the use of the audio books arrived into my class students' reading motivation has increased. My students cant wait to use the personal cd players to listen to the stories.
Your gift is provided my English language learners with audio models. It is also promoting parental involvement because they too want to read along with the audio and can now listen to what "reading" is suppose to "sound like" at their own pace and time. when I send the audio books home for students to rereads. In the future, i hope this resource will enable my students to the listen to new genres without the fear reading a "big book". I hope It will cultivate critical listening, and highlight the humor in text, that they might missed otherwise. My ultimate goal is that my students finally feel like "good readers". I hope to share with my students all the wonders of reading ”
