  • Let's Get Reading

    Funded Oct 11, 2022

Giving my students all the tools they need to become good readers in one of my top priorities. My expectation every year is to not only teach my students to read but to love reading as much if not more than I do. This new texts have quickly become some of my students favorites. These stories provide my students with creatine ways to remember spelling patters as well as practicing those new rules.

I began introducing this books one at a time and thought that I might revisit them a few more times as the year went by. However, they have become a part of our daily library and some of our favorite books. My students enjoy retelling the stories to each other.

I want to again express my gratitude to you for the resources you have funded. It truly takes a village to teach our youth and I am so luck to have your help.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Samperio

  • Clean Water Is a Necessity!

    Funded Nov 10, 2021

This has been by far the best project I have ever had the fortune of getting funded. My students drink water on a daily basis as often as they want and I in turn have a peace of mind knowing the water has been filtered. My students bring and use their refill able bottles every day. Fellow teachers have inquired about my project and even decided to create their own. Your funding of my project has brought all of us so much joy. I truly wish every teacher in every school could have this same gift.

Every day, I fill up my filter pitcher with clean water and set it aside for students and teachers to come in and fill their bottles as needed. It is truly a great feeling.

My next steps is making sure that I keep replacing and ordering the filter as needed to ensure we always have clean water ready to drink.”

  • Getting Our Backpacks Organized!

    Funded Nov 10, 2021

Thank you so much for funding my project and helping me give my students a place where we can store their backpacks, lunch bags and sweaters. My students have become much more independent and responsible for their items now that everyone has an assigned area for their belongings. Now I don't have to worry about the students tripping over the backpacks on the floor.

Your funding of my project has brought all of us so much joy. I truly wish every teacher in every school could have this same gift. Having a well organized classroom allows me to focus one what truly matters, teaching children!

My next steps will include creating take home learning backpacks with the backpacks I received from this project. I plan to fill them with fun activities the students can do with their families. I hope to provide my students with the opportunity to take home one backpack at a time every weekend for the rest of the year. I can't wait to get started!

    Again, thank you so much!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Samperio

  • Practice Makes Perfect!

    Funded Nov 10, 2021

Living through a pandemic has really changed the way we do things. Teaching sounds to children is no exception. These sound recorders have been a life saving tool. I have been able to differentiate my teaching for each my student's needs. I have used some sound hearts to record the sounds of the letters, poems, and stories to allow my students to hear them and practice them on a daily basis during class and at home.

When my students saw the heart shaped sound tools they were so excited to use them. They all wanted to take them home and share their learning with their families. They are excited to practice skills I normally don't have interest in working on.

The next step with this project it to have the students record themselves so they can hear what they sound like when they read and hopefully increase their fluency. The students are excited about recording themselves so they can share their stories with their classmates. I'm so excited about their enthusiasm for learning.”

  • Popping Sounds!

    Funded Nov 10, 2021

When my students first saw all the pop its, they were so excited and couldn't believe they would each get their own pop it to work with at home and school. Their excitement continues to grow daily as they lean new ways to use their po it.

My students are using the pop it every day during our language arts time. The pop the sounds and use them independently when they segment a word. This is helping their reading and writing skills.

  • Projecting Our Future

    Funded Dec 2, 2020

On behalf of my students and I, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your donation towards our project "Projecting Our Future".

In a such times of uncertainty, where we as teachers had such a hard time adjusting to online teaching, helping our students stay focused and ready to learn was one of our biggest challenges. The funding of this project allowed my students to receive a small projector that I was able to use at home during this Covid crisis to share videos and school presentations. We were able to provide the students in my class with the opportunity to use the projector in their own home to view and share their presentations with their families. Students were so excited to share their work.

Your contribution helped make this past school year more exciting for the students and especially easier on me as a teacher. We appreciate you taking the time to help my students get a projector and have ownership in their own learning.”

  • Growing with Butterflies

    Funded Jan 1, 2020

When I began the year with my students, I could not have imagined that we would be experiencing distant learning. We had so many plans for learning.

I didn't get a chance to take pictures or even to start our learning. However, I would like to take this time to express how happy and excited we are about having the butterfly coupon and all the resources to learn about their life cycle. Whether we return to class shortly or we continue distance learning a bit longer, we can't wait to start watching the butterflies grow. I'm excited about my students learning that all living things need more than just food and water for survival. Thank you for funding our project helping us grow.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Samperio

In order to differentiate instruction, I meet with my students in groups during Guided Reading, but in order to do so, all of my students need sufficient leveled reading books. Can you imagine not being able to read books at your reading level? We haven't reached the middle of the school year and my students have already read every book at their level in my classroom library.
