  • Help Us Build Place Value

    Funded Aug 18, 2024

I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for your generous donation of the Math Place Value Cards, Division Regrouping Kit, Multiplication Regrouping Kit, Subtraction Regrouping Kit, Addition Regrouping Kit, Place Value Quiz Cards, and Jumbo Magnetic Base Ten Blocks. These invaluable resources are already making a significant impact on my third graders' daily learning experiences.

In our classroom, we strive to create an engaging and supportive environment that fosters a love for mathematics. The tools you've provided will enhance our lessons and help us achieve our learning goals more effectively. The Math Place Value Cards are particularly exciting as they not only make abstract concepts more tangible but also engage students in visual and kinesthetic learning. Each time we use them, I can see the spark of understanding in their eyes, and it is truly rewarding to witness their growth as they grasp place value concepts.

The Regrouping Kits for addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division have proven to be essential for our math curriculum. These kits allow students to explore the processes of regrouping in a hands-on manner. This practical approach has demystified these operations for many students who previously struggled with them. It's wonderful to see them confidently manipulate the materials, which boosts their confidence and enthusiasm. The collaborative activities facilitated by these kits encourage teamwork and discussion, further enhancing their understanding and retention of key concepts.

The Place Value Quiz Cards have also been a fantastic addition to our classroom. They provide a fun and interactive way to review and assess students' understanding of place value. The quick quizzes not only help reinforce their learning but also encourage a friendly competition that makes math even more enjoyable. I can see students eagerly participating and striving to do their best, which is exactly the motivation we want to instill in them.

Additionally, the Jumbo Magnetic Base Ten Blocks have transformed our whiteboard lessons. Their size and tangibility allow every student to engage in demonstrations easily. We often use them for whole-group instruction, and their vibrant colors captivate our young learners' attention, making complex concepts easier to conquer. These blocks have turned abstract number concepts into something concrete and accessible, which is crucial at this stage in their mathematical journey.

Thanks to your generosity, we have created a classroom environment filled with excitement and curiosity for mathematics. Each day, my students eagerly look forward to math lessons, ready to explore, collaborate, and learn together. Your support has empowered us to make math fun and meaningful, allowing students to develop the skills they need to succeed.

On behalf of my entire class, I want to express our deepest appreciation for your thoughtful contribution. These resources will be utilized daily, and we will continue to build on the foundation they have provided. Thank you for believing in the potential of our students and for investing in their futures. Your kindness is truly making a difference in their lives.”

  • Help Us Find Patterns in the Sky!

    Funded May 6, 2024

I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude for your remarkable generosity in providing us with the telescopes, astronomy books, star projectors, and planets model for our classroom. Your contributions have made a significant impact on our learning environment and have ignited our passion for astronomy.

The telescopes you donated are truly a treasure. They provide our students with the rare opportunity to gaze into the wonders of the universe, bringing celestial bodies closer to their imaginations. With each observation, they learn not only about the mechanics of the stars and planets but also develop a sense of curiosity and wonder about the world beyond our own. We have already hosted several observation nights, where students and their families came together to explore the night sky. The joy and awe on their faces when they spotted Jupiter's moons or the rings of Saturn are moments I will cherish. Your gift has turned our classroom into a launchpad for dreams of discovery.

The astronomy books are another invaluable resource. Packed with fascinating information and engaging illustrations, they have become a staple in our curriculum. Students are not just learning facts; they are diving into the stories of astronomers, the history of space exploration, and the intricacies of our solar system. These books have inspired countless discussions, projects, and even creative writing endeavors, encouraging students to think critically and expansively. Your contribution has made the subject of astronomy more accessible and exciting for our students.

The star projector is a magical addition to our classroom. It transforms our learning space into a mini planetarium, allowing students to explore constellations and celestial movements in a captivating way. We've used it to complement lessons, making complex theories visually engaging and easier to understand. On special occasions, we even turn off the lights and have "starry nights," where students can lie on the floor, gaze at the projected night sky, and share what they see and feel. It nurtures a sense of community and connection to something larger than themselves.

The planets model you provided is another phenomenal tool. It gives students a tangible way to understand the scale and relationships of the celestial bodies within our solar system. We often use it for hands-on activities, allowing students to rearrange the planets and see how their positions change relative to the sun. This interactive learning experience deepens their understanding and makes the vastness of space feel more relatable.

Thank you once again for your unwavering support of our educational endeavors. Your generosity has not only enhanced our curriculum but has also inspired our students to dream big and reach for the stars. We are incredibly grateful for your commitment to fostering a love for astronomy and science in our classroom. Your contributions will have a lasting impact on the minds and hearts of our students.”

  • Becoming Readers With Secret Stories

    Funded Nov 11, 2023

Getting my kiddos to read and write is very crucial but also very challenging. I am always on the look out for research based strategies and resources that can help me reach all students. Most often than not, these resources are very expensive and out of my reach financially. I want all the opportunities and resources I can provide to my students but sometimes I can't afford them.

This is why your help is not only important to me but also very appreciated. Because of your generosity and collaboration, I am able to reach more of my students. My students have already began to embrace the Secret Stories in their knowledge of reading and writing. Everyday as soon as they come into the class the ask what our new story will be. They can identify some of the spelling patterns we have already learned through out the day in different types of text. They are curious about learning and applying these stories to their use of everyday words.

Once again, Thank you for helping me fund this project. Thank you for helping me make an impact in my student's education.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Samperio

  • Let's Print This!

    Funded Nov 30, 2022

I would like to thank you for your generous donation to our classroom. My students were extremely excited to receive and use the printer in our classroom.

One of the benefits of having this printer in my classroom is that there's virtually no wait time for my students to publish their work and share it with others. This means my students can get the prints they need in my classroom fast. My students have gained great pride in having a hard copy of their work and being able to share and display it. My students want to print all of their work. this donation has made a significant positive impact in their learning. Thank you.”

  • Ready to Code in First Grade

    Funded Dec 5, 2022

It is with extreme gratitude and appreciation that I submit this impact letter to you for your kindness and willingness to give, toward Ready to "Code in First Grade", helping us with the purchase of the Go Robot Mouse, Coding technology, the students have gained a better understanding of the what it means to code, as well as appreciate their the work they have done more. It has been a positive influence that they have access to everyday and the students are building and developing a respect and understanding of their ability to create.

Having access to coding toys has empowered my students to have positive attitudes towards future jobs and careers they can have when they grow up! That is priceless in the world we live in today. They are beginning to understand that there are more jobs than just being a police, teacher and veterinarian which is usually what they say they want to be when asked in first grade.

Again, thank you for your donation. Our children's faces lit up when the supplies arrived! They wanted to use them the very first day they received them.”

  • Let's Get Reading

    Funded Oct 11, 2022

Giving my students all the tools they need to become good readers in one of my top priorities. My expectation every year is to not only teach my students to read but to love reading as much if not more than I do. This new texts have quickly become some of my students favorites. These stories provide my students with creatine ways to remember spelling patters as well as practicing those new rules.

I began introducing this books one at a time and thought that I might revisit them a few more times as the year went by. However, they have become a part of our daily library and some of our favorite books. My students enjoy retelling the stories to each other.

I want to again express my gratitude to you for the resources you have funded. It truly takes a village to teach our youth and I am so luck to have your help.”

  • Clean Water Is a Necessity!

    Funded Nov 10, 2021

This has been by far the best project I have ever had the fortune of getting funded. My students drink water on a daily basis as often as they want and I in turn have a peace of mind knowing the water has been filtered. My students bring and use their refill able bottles every day. Fellow teachers have inquired about my project and even decided to create their own. Your funding of my project has brought all of us so much joy. I truly wish every teacher in every school could have this same gift.

Every day, I fill up my filter pitcher with clean water and set it aside for students and teachers to come in and fill their bottles as needed. It is truly a great feeling.

My next steps is making sure that I keep replacing and ordering the filter as needed to ensure we always have clean water ready to drink.”

  • Getting Our Backpacks Organized!

    Funded Nov 10, 2021

Thank you so much for funding my project and helping me give my students a place where we can store their backpacks, lunch bags and sweaters. My students have become much more independent and responsible for their items now that everyone has an assigned area for their belongings. Now I don't have to worry about the students tripping over the backpacks on the floor.

Your funding of my project has brought all of us so much joy. I truly wish every teacher in every school could have this same gift. Having a well organized classroom allows me to focus one what truly matters, teaching children!

My next steps will include creating take home learning backpacks with the backpacks I received from this project. I plan to fill them with fun activities the students can do with their families. I hope to provide my students with the opportunity to take home one backpack at a time every weekend for the rest of the year. I can't wait to get started!

    Again, thank you so much!”

  • Practice Makes Perfect!

    Funded Nov 10, 2021

Living through a pandemic has really changed the way we do things. Teaching sounds to children is no exception. These sound recorders have been a life saving tool. I have been able to differentiate my teaching for each my student's needs. I have used some sound hearts to record the sounds of the letters, poems, and stories to allow my students to hear them and practice them on a daily basis during class and at home.

When my students saw the heart shaped sound tools they were so excited to use them. They all wanted to take them home and share their learning with their families. They are excited to practice skills I normally don't have interest in working on.

The next step with this project it to have the students record themselves so they can hear what they sound like when they read and hopefully increase their fluency. The students are excited about recording themselves so they can share their stories with their classmates. I'm so excited about their enthusiasm for learning.”

In order to differentiate instruction, I meet with my students in groups during Guided Reading, but in order to do so, all of my students need sufficient leveled reading books. Can you imagine not being able to read books at your reading level? We haven't reached the middle of the school year and my students have already read every book at their level in my classroom library.
