Flexible seats allow my fourth grade students to feel more comfortable and connected during their learning. They can work in a variety of places in our room, such as collaborative groups at tables, collaborative groups without a table, computer area, or independently. The inspiration and motivation in the classroom is the key to my students. I have noticed a great difference in participation and commitment when given an option in their seats. This year alone, more & more research is being published about flexible seating. So far, very good feedback to those that have put it in place. Flexible seating will enhance student achievement by stimulating sensory needs, fostering spaces for collaboration, increasing student engagement and motivation, improving self-understanding, and by allowing students to take charge of their own learning. My students will be able to use these products throughout the day while learning about core academics, life skills, and social skills With the products I have chosen, students will be able to choose between floor seats, balance balls, and stability balance discs. Through flexible seating, students will learn which type of seating best meets their needs.
