See the World Through My Eyes
Funded Dec 19, 2018Thank you so much for your support of our Digital Journalism classes! There are around 60 students who now have access to two Instax cameras and film--and they love using them. We all watched a tutorial on how to use the cameras as well as talked about different tips and tricks other students have discovered while using their own Instax cameras.
Our first project involved each student creating an advertisement for one of the articles they have written and published to our digital newspaper website. Each student used the Instax to take a unique photo and in order to attach it to their advertisement. The photos were fun to take and added a bit of interest to each ad. According to our website analytics, the number of readers our site had went up right after hanging up these fun advertisements in the hallways of our school.
Overall, it is always exciting as well as a learning experience to have access to new technology and new ways of using it. Digital Journalism students now have access to Instax cameras and newfound knowledge of how to use them to their fullest extent--all because of your generous donation!”

Inspired and Individual Creative Writing Journals!
Funded Sep 8, 2018My Creative Writing students are thoroughly enjoying their writing supplies. They love the individual journals and are utilizing the colored pencils and markers to truly make the journals their own.
We have been meeting every Friday of every week and the group keeps growing! When the students realized that they had access to their own writing journal as well as creative and colorful supplies, the dedication to continue attending the workshop seemed to solidify.
We are looking forward to holding a community night full of literacy, poetry, art, and creativity! We plan on meeting in the library, providing snacks, and inviting the school community to share in our writing joy. Our personalized journals will be read from and shared in a way that is comfortable and inviting to each student involved.
These creative writing moments would not be half as engaging or fun without your generous donations. We all thank you and will continue to use these gifts as tools of our burgeoning writing trades!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Schwarz
