  • Supporting K-2nd Grade Scientists in Becoming a Generation of Geniuses!

Thank you so much for your generosity! Around this time every summer I always start getting excited thinking about the. new school year. Knowing how much my students will enjoy this collection. of supplemental material by Generation Genius has me really looking forward to another fabulous school year. Again, thank you so much for donating to our scientists and engineers of tomorrow!!”

  • The Magic Of Fairy Tales and STEM!

    Funded Sep 29, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous gift for my little scientists! They had an incredible time working together in small groups to solve the problems given to them through the Fairy Tale Stem activities. While circulating throughout the room while they worked, I could hear the discussions, problem-solving and saw many smiles. After they pandemic, they relish any chance to work together and this provided the perfect learning opportunity!

As a Donor's Choose donor, you really impact our students. This year, we had many children come to us with very little to no English. Having materials where the children can brainstorm ideas, not even needing to use words, and collaborate is so helpful in building relationships between each other and providing peer modeling.

Thank you for all you do!”

  • Learning How Caterpillars Become Butterflies!

    Funded Aug 5, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous donation that makes learning about caterpillars and butterflies so much more engaging and fun! This is a project that my kindergarten science students love and each year. It is an amazing experience to learn about the the life cycle of these butterflies and watch it happen in real time.”

  • Learning How Caterpillars Become Butterflies!

    Funded Dec 13, 2021

Thank you for your generous donation of our Kindergarten butterfly nurseries! To say the kids were excited when they saw me walk into their classrooms with the nursery and cup of young caterpillars would be an understatement!

Because of your donation, my students were able to learn about the butterfly life cycle while they were watching in happen in real time. A classroom teacher even reported back that they saw the caterpillar come out of its chrysalis throughout the school day. It was so exciting!

As we watched nature take its beautiful course, my student's grew to appreciate the wonders of science and nature. Letting their full grown butterflies go free was very esteeming for the children. They had "raised" and cared for these caterpillars as they went into their chrysalis and emerged full grown butterflies ready to go into nature. It was quite beautiful! Thank you again for making it all possible!!”

  • A New School Backpack!

    Funded Feb 21, 2021

I want to thank you for your extreme generosity in supplying my class with new backpacks. For some children, getting new school supplies is a given each year. I remember my own excitement and privilege to be able to pick out new notebooks, crayons, folders and backpacks each year. This is not something my students in our title 1 school can always experience.

Thanks to your generous spirit my students were all able to receive new backpacks of their choosing. They were excited to receive these in the color of their choice (several to choose from) and have it filled with Donor's Choose school supplies. The looks of excitement were priceless. So was the excitement in signing up for a time they would be able to pick these up. I am looking forward to seeing my 2020-2021 remote students using these materials in person come September.

    Once again, thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Schier

  • We Need the Basics!

    Funded Oct 22, 2020

Thank you so much for taking the time to read about my project and donate to this cause. For my students, it is not a given that they will have the materials they need to work at home. As soon as this project was funded I set up times for families to meet me outside of the school building to pick up bags filled with notebooks, folders, pencils, glue sticks and colored pencils. I have made it known to the parents that these materials are available to them all year and they just need to send me a private message with what they need to help their child succeed. Many continue to pick up what they need as needed. It is very appreciated by my families and myself. Your donations bring a great amount of joy to students and relieves some of the financial pressure of their families.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you!!”

  • Let's Build It Together!

    Funded Dec 17, 2018

I want to thank you all for your generous donations to my Science and Engineering classroom. Your donation allowed my students to receive three plentiful STEM building kits. The student's faces lit up when I took the kits out of the box for the first time and showed them what your donation had provided for our classroom.

The students have been working and learning about the Engineering Design Process and how to use it in different circumstances. These materials tie in perfectly to the concepts in engineering we have been studying.

It is wonderful to see young children so excited about the work they are doing. Thank you again for helping to make my classroom a place where my students are enthusiastic about learning.”

  • These Partitions Will Help Us To Focus And Work Independently!

    Funded Aug 22, 2018

Thank you all so much for your generous donations toward my project. These boards have provided just the right amount of privacy each child needs at one time or another. It allows them to focus on their thoughts and ideas when working independently of one another.

When I first brought out the privacy boards my students were very excited to get started using them. They are a vibrant blue and very sturdy. They are easy for a new kindergarten student to set up all by themselves which is another way these boards helps to encourage their independence. Some of my older students have used them in other classrooms and know exactly what they are for and how they used. Upon seeing the boards they know what is expected.

As I use these to help my students become more independent thinkers, readers and writers I will grateful to Donor's Choose and their generous donors for helping my children succeed.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Schier

Everything has its own life cycle! We will learn about the life cycle of animals such as frogs and butterflies. We will also learn about the lifecycle of the plants we grow and eat. Our students will explore the relationship between plants and animals as well. We will also have the opportunity to grow our own plants for consumption. This year our children will create work using the concept of project based learning. This will incorporate using literature, technology, hands-on exploration and demonstration, as well as writing in their final products. They will look to solve common problems among the plant and animal community by designing, creating, building and presenting solutions.
