  • Creative Coding

    The excitement on the students' faces when they saw the wonderful "robots" was priceless! Most of them have not interacted with coding robotics prior to this gift. They giggle with excitement when the critter goes from one point to it's destination by the code the child input. The critical thinking required for them to think ahead and plan a route for the critters to follow has allowed many opportunities to incorporate basic math and reading skills. For one activity, the students coded a critter to move to a sight word to read and other times using a code sequence to solve an addition problem.

    We are so grateful for the "coding critters" and the opportunities they provide for students to think outside normal learning experiences.”

  • Imagine! Create! Build Little Minds and Fingers!

    My students loved opening the boxes and seeing the new treasures they get to incorporate in their free play centers each day. The items we received provide more opportunities to improve fine motor skills by creating and building their own creations. They enjoy using the pipe cleaners to add to the play dough people, food, and animals they design. The stacking rocks, little pavers, and spools turned into buildings, pens, and towers in the discovery center.

  • Busy Body Soft Seating

    My students were so excited when they opened the boxes of cushions for our classroom. We use them several times during the day to read and work around the room. They help my students focus a little longer because the cushions provide body movement and comfort while they are working at their tables, on the floor, and even during group activities. Having the choice to work in traditional seating or around the room has given them

    ownership over their learning and what works best for them. We also have the versatility with the cushions to make any spot in the classroom a place to learn since they can carry them wherever they go.

    Again, I am very grateful to have this wonderful gift for my students this year to meet diverse needs of their learning styles. It has made a huge difference for them.”

During class we transition from group instruction on the floor to independent tasks frequently. The soft seats and the flexible cushions will give my energetic, busy young learners quick options during instruction and independent work time. It will allow them to quickly grab a seat and choose where to sit when working as a group or completing small group or independent tasks on the floor or even at their chairs. These cushions will help them with their wiggles and their busy bodies while they are learning.
