  • Food Is Fuel For My Brain

    Funded Oct 6, 2022

I have been teaching for many years and always have many times when students come in hungry. Whether they have missed breakfast or just need a little more to eat, I usually did not have anything to give them With this thoughtful donation that is not a concern now.

I received all the food and water bottles and quickly got them ready to share with the students. I wrote their names on the water bottles and had the tub of snacks open on the counter. When the students walked in they gasped to see it all. They were so excited and many asked with excitement if this was their own water bottle!

Since receiving the supplies I have been able to feed several hungry students. It has been such a rewarding feeling to be able to give them a snack instead of asking them to try to hold on until lunch.

Thank you so much for your donation!!!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Hanson

This summer I went to a training where Magna Tiles were presented as a hands-on, fun, and engaging activity. I knew right then that this would be a perfect activity for my class. Once I received the materials I told the students that I had the most amazing news to share with them. I held up the Magna Tiles and the students went wild. Anybody who was near my classroom had to have heard them.

We have been learning about living things and their needs to survive. Since there were animal Magna Tiles in the kit I had each table group work together to build a habitat for their animal. The creativity for this project was amazing.

I am looking forward to the many ways I can incorporate Magna Tiles into our learning.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Hanson

Take a peek in the future of classrooms. No longer are students sitting in rows of desks quietly working in their seat. Instead you will see students huddled in a corner sitting on seat cushions collaborating on a project. Other students will be sitting in comfy floor seats reading their favorite book. And more will be laying on the rug using clipboards to work on their assignment. Having the freedom to choose where and how they sit makes a huge difference in student motivation, behavior, and performance. Sitting in one spot for long periods of time can make one fidgety and off task. Having a variety of flexible options for my students to sit, lay, and work comfortably will affect my students in so many positive ways. Times have definitely changed and classrooms need to change with it. Having these resources will impact my students this year and many more years to come!
