  • Chromebooks for Creating Creative Learners

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

Thank you so much for funding our Chromebooks. I was super excited to find out we were getting Chromebooks. I can't wait to see their faces when they open up the boxes. They will be so excited! I am extremely grateful for your donation. Your commitment to education will help my kids be the leaders I know they can be!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Grossie

  • Classroom Library Set II

    Funded Jul 10, 2012

On behalf of my students and myself, we appreciate your donation. We are deeply grateful for your support. It is our responsibility to make sure our children in Louisiana are given the chance to learn. We find ourselves in a position where funds are not given to us to make sure this happens. With the help of organizations like Starbucks, we are able to generate an engaging classroom where students can learn effectively, grow as a reader, and dream.

We are having a wonderful time reading Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. My students ask every morning if they get to read Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in their groups. They are excited about reading a book about chocolate. They are anxious to find out what happens in the next chapter. We often find ourselves wanting to stay in for recess to finish a chapter or to discuss what we read that day. I think it is amazing how this book has encouraged my students to read other books. I find they are reading more chapter books because they like how "the story grows" and how "the characters are people that I can relate to".

I am truly thankful for all that you have done!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Grossie

I am currently teaching 4th grade English language arts to 2 groups of 25 smart, vivacious students. They are constantly asking me to purchase new books or magazines to learn about their world. They are challenged every day and they have no problem accepting the challenges. Our school is a High Performing High Poverty School. All of our students receive free lunch. We also have students from 12 different countries. We are also the only public school to accept vouchers in our entire state.
