Organizing Fun!
Funded Apr 6, 2023It is with an enormous amount of gratitude that I am sending this letter! My students were so excited to get the packages yesterday and get started using them! We have so many math manipulatives and these boxes are just wonderful for that purpose! We also are enjoying them for their traditional purpose of pencils, markers, scissors, and glue sticks. The bright colors of the boxes help to identify the table of which each student sits. These are just perfect and exactly what I had in mind when I created this project. Thank you so much again!”

Funded Mar 29, 2023I truly can not thank you enough for the generous donation of these books. The joy and excitement that my student's had when the boxes were brought in was amazing! And hearing them when each book came out was so magical. The books went right into our library and are a very hot commodity on book shopping day! I especially love that these books have drawings in them too, so even students that are not ready to read the words yet, can get the gist of the story by looking at the pictures. Once again, that you so much for your generocity!”

More Books!
Funded Dec 29, 2022This year I am blessed to have a class in which majority of the students can read fluently and above grade level. I do have a hand full of students who are still striving to reach their peers level. These graphic novel books that were so lovingly donated by you all help boost the confidence of these striving readers, as well as encourages their love for reading. The majority of my students are reading chapter books during read to self time. The striving readers have taken notice of that in comparison to their books, and noticed a difference. These graphic novels allow them to have larger books in their hands, see the picture of what the words are saying, and follow along with the story. I cannot tell you how much these books are loved by all my kids.”

Making Literacy Groups Fun Again
Funded Aug 17, 2021I cannot tell you how excited my kids were to receive the phonics and small group items! We play with them in small groups and it is truly amazing how much these little kids have grown already. The BOB books help with blending CVC words, the sight word games are a huge hit, and also very impactful as most of my kids have already moved up in the lists of sight words. The CVC builders are helping those that need that phonemic awareness reinforcement, as well as more segmenting and blending practice. These kids have not had the "normal" start to their schooling as they were in Kindergarten last year, but due to your genericity, this year has been off to a wonderful start!”

Funded Dec 22, 2020I cannot tell you enough about the level of excitement that my students had when we opened the new recess equipment packages! In our school, we switch recess locations daily, so we do not always have a playground to play on during our recess time. Once all the new equipment came out, all the students were so excited to have any spot as our recess spot.
We get outside every day, as long as the weather permits, and my students love to get outside and play with the balls and draw on the sidewalks with the chalk. I cannot thank you enough for your generous gift to us!”

Give the Gift of Reading!
Funded Dec 4, 2019Your generosity in giving my class the books I requested is nothing short of amazing. My kids will get into their phonics groups and become the vowel hunters that they aim to be! They have short vowel books and long vowel books in envelopes to work with. The books that you donated are fun for them to read also. With the themed books that they enjoy, they are more than excited to read them while hunting for short or long vowels. I can not thank you enough for your support of my classroom, even though you don't know who I am.
Thank you again.”

Funded Nov 26, 2018Thank you so much for your generous donation to my class! My student's love the Play Time Fun equipment. We have to rotate recess spots so we don't always have a playground. This equipment has made my students love going to the other play areas more than the playground! It is so important for these kids to get the chance to play outside and move around, while still building strong communication and problem-solving skills.
The equipment that you have donated helps with the two above mentioned skills, as well as creating an environment that lends to sharing. It's really quite amazing how the play time fun has helped with sharing and grouping of my students. All my students have meshed into various groups that are ever changing and creatively playing outside. Some days a group plays catch with the footballs, some days they play basketball with the kickball, and some days they play with the bouncing balls and scarves, but these groups are never the same day to day.
In my classroom, we have been working really hard on communication and facilitating academic conversations throughout all subjects during the day. My kids work so hard on respectfully agreeing and disagreeing with each other during day. We are working on forming our own options and backing them up with a reason. We are also working on saying how we feel, even if it embarrasses us, and working through a solution to that feeling.
Once again, thank you so much for your gift. My students love to play with the equipment when we are outside, and your gift is teaching my kids several social-emotional lessons that will stick with them for life.”

Funded Dec 2, 2018Thank you so much for your kind donation. Your generosity has made such a huge impact in my classroom. The iPads are used during workshop times for either reading, math, or phonics. My students need to hear the iPads so they can play the games correctly, as all the apps they use, grow as they grow.
My students were so excited the day the headphones came in! I was passing them out to everyone, and they couldn't wait to get on the iPads to use them. On this rare day, I let them all get on the iPad for phonics workshop, where as normally only a couple of them are on the iPad at a time. In looking at the app information that they use, their phonics skills have grown a lot since the headphones have been given to us!
All my students love the headphones, and iPads are such a treat for them! Most of my students don't have technology at home, so when they get to use it at school, they feel so special. Our math app has the ability for them to change their figures on Friday, so this is especially fun treat for them when they've done their math work hard during the rest of the week. They get five minutes to change their figures after they've finished their workshop and I let them do it with the person sitting next to them, so they really enjoy that special time. Thank you again for the headphones, your kindness has not gone unnoticed!”

Funded Dec 26, 2018Thank you so much for your generous gift of our classroom set of Rekenreks. These little math tools have made my students much more proficient with adding and subtracting within 20. Once we received these, my math proficiency went from below 50% to above 50%, in fact it was even 79% on the last math check that included adding and subtracting within 20! The kids love the small size of them, and they are easy to hold, carry, and work on.
When my kids first saw the class set of Rekenreks, they clapped and cheered! They were so happy to each have the opportunity to use them. Previously, we only had four, and the kids really had a hard time sharing them. Now, we don't have to worry about sharing because they each have their own! Also, in small group, the whiteboard Rekenreks are amazing. The kids really love to use the Rekenrek to solve and then write the equation on the whiteboard with dry erase markers. I can really get great work out of them when they have the tools they need!
Our class is continuing to build our fluency within 10, as well as adding and subtracting within 20. Once again, your Rekenreks have helped my kids build number sense, which is vital to having a solid foundation in math. Thank you again.”

Ms. G.
