This year I decided to explore flexible seating in my classroom, and I love it! I have noticed the difference in the students at how actively engaged they are while working on classroom activities/assignments. The students enjoy having the opportunity to have other seating options. It has helped them learn best by giving them the control of sitting where they work best. On their own they move their own seating if they feel they are not learning in that certain spot. During flexible seating they are able to collaborate with other classmates. They easily pair up or work in small groups if needed. Most importantly they are comfortable while they are learning. It helps them stay focused and be productive on what they are working on. The only problem is I do not have enough seating option for all of my students. At the moment I have a rug and four wobble chairs. They take turns using those, but I would like for all my students to be actively engaged, comfortable, and productive on a daily basis. Flexible seating makes a huge difference! Please help us reach our goal! Thank you!
