  • Bridge the Communication Barrier With Ipad

    Funded Sep 24, 2024

Let me start by expressing my gratitude for your generous donation! My classroom was in desperate need of IPAD to assist my students in the learning process. The IPAD your donation provided has benefited my students in the following ways.

The school in which I teach has an exceptionally large number of English Language Learners. Many of the students live in homes where English is not spoken. Some of these students are brand new to the United States and have no knowledge of the English language. As you can imagine, this affects them both socially and academically. Having an IPAD easily accessible at all times allows them to communicate with their teachers and peers through the use of Google Translate, thus allowing them to build relationships. In addition, teachers can communicate lessons through the use of this technology. Teacher and student discourse is made available to clarify misconceptions and answer any questions the ELL student may have.

The classroom IPAD you helped to provide also helps all the students in my classroom by allowing them to complete research, engage in learning games, email assignments, and enhance their technology skills. Technology is the future, and with your help, you have enabled me with opportunity to bring technology into my classroom. I thank you again for your generosity.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Berryhill

  • VersaTiles: Independent Practice that's Engaging

    Funded Jul 12, 2021

Thank you so much for your generous donation! The Versa Tiles have been an engaging resource for my students. I have created a learning station with the Versa Tiles so that students can practice important reading skills independently. Students are always eagerly awaiting their turn at this learning station.

I have noticed that test scores have increased since I implemented the Vera Tiles in our learning groups. This resource allows student to practice the reading comprehension strategies taught in class.

This resource has been a game changer in my classroom, all thanks to you.”

  • Books for Little Kids with Big Emotions

    Funded Jun 3, 2021

Thank you again for the generous donation. The past year has been difficult for many of my students. The pandemic has left these little ones with big emotions that they don't completely understand. The books purchased for my class has allowed me many opportunities to have important conversations and build relationships.

Class discussions have been meaningful following our read alouds. I have also noticed many students requesting to check out the "Little Spot" books that we received, thanks to you. The books are engaging, easy to read, and they help to build up and support our future generation during an extremely season of their life.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Berryhill

  • Diverse Texts for Diverse Readers

    Funded May 29, 2021

First and foremost, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your thoughtful donations. My students and I were filled with joy as we opened our packages and placed the newest addition of books on to the shelves. Reading is celebrated in our classroom. The books donated to the classroom library are already being read!

I strive to create a welcoming and comfortable environment for reading time. I have a variety of seating areas around the room and invite my students to find a place they find most comfortable. Pillows are available for students to lounge or ottomans if they prefer to prop their feet up. Window seats tend to be a classroom favorite.

But reading time doesn't end when the book is closed. We wrap up our silent reading with classroom discussion. Each student has an opportunity to share an exciting moment or an interesting fact from their reading.

As you can see, reading in my classroom is an experience, not an academic chore. Thank you for your contribution.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Berryhill

I teach a class of diverse students with big imaginations and even bigger hearts. The unique qualities of each child is what makes our classroom community so special. I love the energy they bring to class each day. My goal is to ensure each child recognizes their value, sees their potential, and strives for growth. My classroom is full of eager minds who learn best through hands-on activities, student based learning, and open discussion. As a team, my students and I work hard each day to better ourselves academically, socially, and emotionally. Learning and growing alongside our future generation is truly a rewarding journey.
