Portable Projector, What Would My Students do Without You?
Funded Oct 31, 2018Fairlawn Elementary students and myself are undeniably grateful of your wonderful donation. It has allowed us to continue working enthusiastically toward new projects which required the most basic element in an elementary art curriculum; these being construction paper and tempera paint.
Initially, our intention was to acquire a projector to facilitate viewing images, drawing samples and tutorials from the Internet. We ordered it, but unfortunately it turned out defective and had to return it.
We then decided to stock up on our paper and paint, which as mentioned earlier, was extremely low. And so back in business, as they say, our students are producing exciting works of art, advancing their education which we, educators, aid to connect with different areas of knowledge, always integrating Science, Math and Technology.”
With gratitude,
Ms. P.
This classroom project was brought to life by Chevron Fuel Your School. And Now, A Moment of Art!
Funded Feb 14, 2017I would like to reiterate how grateful my students and I are to you, the thoughtful and generous donors of this project. Even though my students were informed of every step of the donation process, the elation when the art supplies were delivered to the art room reached an all-time high!
The variety of paper sizes and colors were used to make baskets adorned with sophisticated geometric designs and paper replicas of "drum art" (a typical and popular art form done with the lid or cylinder of discarded steel drums that once contained hazardous chemicals) displaying exquisite motifs of flora and fauna or mythical beings. Also done on the paper delivered were replicas of traditional Haitian paintings depicting market scenes or women on their way to sell their produce at the local market. And last, also made were 3-D renderings of the famously decorated jitneys known as "tap tap".
Because of you, this school year will have ended on a bright and cheerful note!
