It's Glowing to Be a Great Year
Funded Aug 25, 2023Thank you so much for your generous donations towards our Glow day project. We were blessed to receive the materials and excited to get something scheduled soon. My co-teacher and I decided to do our first glow day on Halloween! Our school does not allow students to dress up in costumes on that day, so we decided to make it a special theme day instead. They absolutely loved it!!!
As they walked in my classroom, the black lights were set up around the room and everything was glowing brightly. I decorated my classroom in neon colors so it looked very cool! All day long we did our core classes in glow day fashion. Whether it was doing task cards around the room, reading students about bioluminescence, or completing a glowing writing activity, they had an absolute blast.
Again, thank you for helping us make this happen. They enjoyed the glow bracelets and other materials you helped provide for this special day. We look forward to future glow days.”

Funded Nov 29, 2022Our fourth grade students recently earned 100 eagles (our school-wide incentive system), so we knew it was time to celebrate our students with a "Glow day". We encouraged the students to wear white or neon, set up the black lights, and planned glow activities throughout the day. The second they walked in the classroom they were hooked...and glowing! Their first fun project was to create a water bottle firefly using the bright pipe cleaners and glow sticks. The fireflies glowed on their desk all day long! They were given a highlighter for their work, glow necklace for fun, and did assignments on bright green paper. At the end of the day, they all commented that this was the best day and they wanted "glow day" for every incentive party from now on. Thank you for your generous donations for this to happen. I can't wait to set up a glow day soon for my third grade classroom.”

Funded Jun 17, 2021Thank you again for your classroom support. My students were absolutely thrilled when we opened up the boxes and they saw that we were getting new playground toys. They were volunteering to pump up the balls right away!
There are several ways we use the new playground materials...in fact, we even use them in the classroom! The ring toss can be labeled with possible answer choices and students can throw the ring on the post that corresponds to their answer choice. The playground balls are used as a break for some of my students. I have a small basketball hoop in my classroom and they can work towards getting some basketball time as a reward. They also enjoy playing kickball and other games on the playground at recess with the balls.
Thanks again for your support. We will get a lot of use out of these playground resources for years to come.”

Dim Lights, Bright Future!
Funded Sep 17, 2018Thank you so much for supporting my classroom project. It has made a positive impact on student learning and focus. This has been such a great thing for my classroom and my sweet students.
The light covers arrived and I had our custodian put them up right away. You should've seen my students eyes light up as they entered the room. The light covers put off a calming blue tint which helps with reducing anxiety and stress. Without stress, students can focus on learning! They absolutely love them.
Thanks again for your support. These light covers have been such a blessing.”

Funded Mar 27, 2018Thank you so much for being an amazing donor! We are so blessed to have you sponsor our classroom project. The students were thrilled to get the new headphones and were ready to try them out the second they arrived. I labeled them and everyone gets the same pair each time. They love to use them each and every day!
The students use these headphones to listen to our reading and math intervention computer programs. One of my sweet students told me she was working so hard wearing the headphones that she didn't hear the other teacher tell them to line up for lunch! These excellent quality headphones are perfect for my students. Thanks so much for your generous donation.”

Funded Feb 19, 2018Thank you so much for supporting my classroom. We were able to get more books on my students' reading levels along with the sound phones. If you come to my classroom, you will see my students doing small group reading or you may see some students around the room reading independently. They love using the sound phones. I have started to see a difference in reading fluency.
My students have also really enjoyed the new books. Some of their favorites include Flat Stanley and Amelia Bedelia books. They are able to work on these independently using their sound phones. This gives them a lot more confidence.
Thank you again for supporting my classroom. We are so blessed to have wonderful people help us get the resources we need.”

Funded May 25, 2017Thank you so much SONIC drive-in for sponsoring our classroom. We were thrilled to receive word that our classroom would be getting our needed supplies. My students love "Flat Stanley" books and now they will be able to sharpen their reading skills in a small group setting, while reading one of their favorite series. The light cover has also made a big impact in my classroom. It's so much more calming than the harsh florescent lighting that we had before. My classroom doesn't have a window, so now with the new light cover, it's almost like we do! Students who are not in my classroom want to stop in and see the new light! Last, we are also excited to hear the Frindle cd. It's important to get them interested in new books and to hear a fluent reader. This allows me to work with others while they listen and learn. Thanks again for your support.”

Flexible Seating for Exceptional Students
Funded Dec 19, 2016Thank you so much for supporting our classroom. The Kore Wobble Stools have truly been amazing! They offer so many benefits and are just what my students need.
As I took them out of the box and assembled them, I knew that these stools were going to be a hit. First, they allow us to more around more in my small classroom and students won't be tripping over chair legs anymore. Next, my students need the movement and these stools allow for that movement without being a distraction to others. Last, these stools help with focus and my students can really tell the difference.
Thanks again for supporting this grant. I love these stools!”

Team Fitness
Funded Mar 9, 2016Isn't it amazing what a little technology can do? I wish you could of been in my classroom when I told my group of girls that we were getting activity trackers to use in our running club. They were so thrilled and couldn't wait until they arrived, which fortunately was a very quick process.
Once the Misfit activity trackers arrived, I was able to upload the app on my phone and start setting up all 20 Misfits. At our running club practice, the girls learned about the trackers, then we were ready to try them out. They worked great! It's pretty funny that these activity trackers can really motivate the girls to try their best and run even more!
Again, thank you so much for donating to this project. It is so important to me that we encourage physical fitness, especially in our youth. Your donation for our Misfits will be used for many years to come.”

Baby, It's Cold Outside!
Funded Nov 22, 2014Thank you so much for helping us get indoor recess supplies! The kids were extremely excited as I showed them the new equipment and had them try it out. We were able to set up stations around the gym and the students rotated throughout our recess time using the new materials. Wow, it was great!
One of their favorite activities were the catch-n-throw set. I had never seen anything like it and it was sure a hit! Students can work on eye and hand coordination. Students also enjoyed the stepping stones. I was able to show them numerous ways to use them to help with balance. This was such a blessing for us!
Again, thank you for helping out our school. We really appreciate your support.”
