Leveled Readers for Little Readers!
Funded Mar 27, 2013I would like to thank you for your generosity. The guided reading books that you provided my Kindergarten students with have been a major hit! They love reading the new material. You have given us a boost, not only in reading, but math, science, and social studies as well. These books cover such a wide variety of topics! They were so excited when the new books came in. We have been using them for guided reading and practicing sounding out new words with the reading strategies we have been learning. These books are helping my current group of Kindergarten students to read and will help many more in the future!”

Let's Make Learning Creative!
Funded Jan 1, 2013We can not express, with words, how greatly we appreciate your kindness and generosity. You have made our classroom lessons creative and fun! We have used the materials you donated to us in a number of subjects already! We have used the clay in math to build flat and solid shapes. We have used the wikki stixs for practicing letter formation and writing. We have also used the pipe cleaners, glitter, and paint to make reading and learning our letters and sounds exciting!! Your donation has been such a motivator and the learning has been hands-on and memorable. The students and I have appreciated single item!”

The journals and chart stand that you have provided us with are helping us with our reading and writing standards. We appreciate the kindness you have shown us and because of it my students are getting the practice they need to become comfortable with reading and writing. The sightword journals have greatly improved our reading! They are opening books and pointing out the sightwords excitedly! Help us Learn our Letters and Sounds!
Funded Sep 14, 2012Thank you for your contribution to our classroom, it was much appreciated. My students have been thrilled to learn their letters and sounds with the addition of our new sound tubs. The hands on learning they are garnering from the sound tubs is invaluable. We use one every week as a new letter is introduced and then later in the week they work on sorting out the sound tubs (after I mix a few together) to practice differentiating beginning sounds. We also use them when we draw in our letter journals. Seeing and touching the materials has given us such a greater understanding of the letters and letter sounds. Thank you so much for making that happen.”

Kindergarten Class in Need of Listening Center
Funded Sep 13, 2012My students and I are so grateful for your generous donation to our classroom. The listening center is being used wtih vigor. The students love listening to the stories and it is such a joy to hear their giggling over the books while I am working with the other students for guided reading. It is helping them learn language as well as story elements such as characters, settings, and main idea. It is their favorite center! They were so excited when you package came in, and asked me if you were like Santa Claus. They love to retell the stories and tell their friends about them. Your donation will go a long way towards helping them achieve our standards this year and we cannot thank you enough.”

Kindergarten Class in Need of Books
Funded May 1, 2012Thank you for making a huge impact with my students, and our guided reading groups. Now that we have leveled readers, my students are eager and ready to learn at their own speed. Now that we have differentiated leveled readers my students will make huge gains. They are so excited about the new books. I read them to the students and we have already begin letter finds in them, and will be using them later down the road to help us sound out words...and eventually we will be reading them all on our own. These books will be utilized over the years and will impact many Kindergarten students. I cannot express how much your kindness means to me and my students. ”

Kindergarten Class in Need of Journals!
Funded Apr 25, 2012I cannot thank you enough for contributing to our class project, and the class quest to begin writing from the first day we step into the classroom. For Kindergarteners writing independently is a huge hurdle. With the materials you have given to us we are going to clear that hurdle in no time! The journals you gave to us gives us prompts and answers for us to choose from. You are giving my Kindergarteners a way to write even though they can not yet read on their own. This is important, especially to my students who can not speak English. The visuals provided in the journals will help them express their thoughts, even though they can't say them. The writing tablets you have given us will help my students see how to form the letters they are learning about. We appreciate your gifts so much! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
”

Mrs. W.
