Keeping It Clean
Funded Feb 10, 2023Thank you so much for providing the materials needed to help keep our students safe. With these materials I will be able to provide my students with the items necessary to keep them in class and learning, rather than going around the school looking for what they need. We appreciate your generosity and support!”

We Love To Read! 10/02/14
Funded Dec 24, 2014Thank you so much for the donation of books to our classroom! By funding our classroom library you have increased the opportunities for my students to access literature in a setting that they are comfortable with. It also allows me to have books on hand to be able to bring up in an authentic way. This dialogue between me and my students increases their desire for reading, and does so in a way that I can guide them.
My students are required to read for a period of time at the beginning of each class, and having a variety of book titles available for them in my room allows me to fill in for students who didn't bring a book with them. It also places books in front of my students each day.
We are so thankful that you made this donation and assisted in funding our classroom library.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Ferguson
Let's Get Reading!
Funded Jul 22, 2014Thank you very much for the donation of books to my classroom. It is so exciting for students to be able to have access to materials without having to leave the room. It is exciting for me to be able to have the opportunity to discuss literature and reading with my students based on the books that you have so generously donated. My students were so excited to hear that we had a grant filled and immediately wanted to know what books were on their way. We were able to have several discussions regarding the novels, and the different elements of the stories that students were interested in. As a passionate reader myself, it is thrilling to see the excitement that the students bring to reading. Students are able to use the materials both in class, and check books out to read on their own. I work hard to make sure I have read the majority of the books myself so that I am able to open conversations with them regarding the books. This is such a great opportunity for both the students and for me that would not be possible without your generosity. Thank you!”

Mrs. Ferguson
For The Love Of Reading
Funded Nov 2, 2013I want to thank you all again for your amazing gift to my classroom. In this time of limited funding it is so difficult to get materials like the ones that you are supplying for my students. As someone who loves to read, it is so inspiring and rewarding to have a student find something that they love to read as well.
So many students have a negative outlook on reading, and by having a variety of materials within my classroom I am working on changing that attitude for as many of my students as I can. By having an ongoing conversation with all of my classes about the books that I am reading, have read, or want to read I am able to model the behavior I am looking for from them. By having the books in my classroom, I am able to immediately allow for students to begin reading or looking for titles that interest them. Reading opens up so many worlds to students, and teaches them so many valuable lessons.
By having both current and older titles, fiction and nonfiction, I am able to recommend books that appeal to each individual student. When I posted my project on donorschoose.org I informed my students about it, and told them how it works. When I announced to them that we had been funded and that 39 new books were on their way to us they were so excited to get a look at the list and 'reserve' the incoming books. Your gift not only impacts hundreds of current and future students, but it also opens up new worlds for them.”

Mrs. Ferguson
Books, Books, Books!
Funded Nov 2, 2012Thank you so much for your donation to my classroom! My students absolutely love having books in our room for them to read, use, and check out. Having the book accessible to all of my students is so nice, and having new and current titles for them to read is amazing. It is a great learning tool for me to be able to discuss books with students that I have available to them, and for them to see my enthusiasm about reading. I have had so many students read the books that we received from this donation. You truly are impacting the lives of hundreds of students. Thank you again!”

Mrs. Ferguson
