Flexible Seating
Funded Feb 9, 2023My classroom has become the hang out spot on campus. Students know they can come to my room for quiet and comfort. Many students have begun coming during lunch and before school just to sit, which usually leads to conversations. Those conversations can sometimes be life changing, or life saving.
During class students are more comfortable because they can choose where they want to sit. It has even improved tardiness, since the flexible seating is limited. Students can see that I really care about them, and it's not just something I say to them.
Thank you for your support!”

Funded Dec 19, 2014Thank you so much for funding our project. The students were very excited to receive brand new books. Many resources we receive are well-used, so it was very exciting for them to get new books.
My students wanted to use the books immediately, even though they had to wait for us to begin reading that particular story. Having the companion texts to the books we got from the school district really helped the students to experience the theme of the stories we were reading. The students have been so careful with the books, even not carrying them in their backpacks, so the books stay clean and neat.
The students were able to see different perspectives about communication, the history of words and language, and the ability of people to communicate across cultures. It also helped them to understand idioms and metaphors better; something I'd been struggling to help them understand.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Harter
