Flexible Seating and Sensory Station

Thank you so much for your generous donations! We have been very busy in to classroom. The flexible seating is working wonders! The students are more focused and more willing to complete assignments. They have expressed this is because they are comfortable in the classroom. The wobble chairs and standing desk are also a big hit! The students who have trouble sitting still have been able to sit for longer periods of time and have completed more tasks. The fidget objects have also created a calmer atmosphere with students who have trouble concentrating. We have been using the buzzers for group work. The students work in teams to generate correct answers. They buzz their answers in. They love this activity!

The students were amazed when they saw the new materials within the classroom. They were so excited for the flexible seating and new materials. They couldn't wait to use them. Once everything was introduced to them, it was a breeze. They knew how to use them independently.

The next steps that would be taken to maximize the potential of the material is to eventually eliminate desks all together. I would like to allow the students to have a comfortable classroom 100% of the time. They would be able to move freely daily and not only during independent or group instruction.
