Flexible Seating Options for Flexible Learning!
Funded Dec 14, 2016I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to you for providing the tools to make flexible seating a reality in my classroom. This project has been my most ambitious and rewarding to date, and I cannot thank you enough for your generous support. My students were so excited by the new seating options, book sacks, and other materials.
More important to me than their initial excitement, however, is how the new seating options and tools have improved my classroom for their learning experience. Students who need to fidget and move in order to focus are now able to do so in a mom-disruptive way that supports their needs. Students are also empowered to make decisions about what is best for them and their learning.
I absolutely cannot wait for students in my classes for years to come to have the opportunity to experience flexibility seating, and it is thanks to your generosity that it will be possible.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Marcus
Organizational Tools for Increased Learning
Funded Dec 29, 2015Thank you again for your support of my students. I envision a classroom wherein students have the organizational materials necessary to foster independence, and you have helped me bring this vision to life. The materials arrived the day before students returned from winter break, so they were able to begin the new semester with all new folders and organizational tools! My students we thrilled when they saw the new folders in their seat sacks, and they were even more excited when they realized how much easier they were to use than the flimsy paper folders they had left behind.
As I push my students toward independent organizational skills, these resources have already been, and will continue to be, an extremely important piece of the puzzle. I appreciate each one of you for your support.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Marcus

Funded Dec 7, 2014Thank you very much for supporting the creation of a lending library in our classroom. The combination of the wide selection of high-interest books on a variety of reading levels and the attractive rotating bookshelf on which they are displayed has created a lot of excitement for reading! Students love getting to take home books that they know and love as well as new and exciting texts, read them with their families, and return them to exchange for a new book. In a time when school libraries are disappearing, and city libraries are not always accessible, it is increasingly important to find alternative methods of getting books into children's homes. You have my most sincere gratitude for your help in achieving that goal.”

Funded Dec 27, 2012It would be difficult for me to express in words the gratitude that I feel for your generosity in funding my project. Since the new books arrived in my classroom, I have seen new level of excitement for reading among my students. The books range from familiar picture books like "Sheila Rae the Brave" to exciting nonfiction books about topics that my students are excited to learn about like dolphins, trucks, and electricity.
Every week when my students choose new on-level books for their independent reading, they are excited to experience a new book. They eagerly show me which one they've picked and cannot wait to read it to me.
In addition to being more excited about reading, my students are now more motivated to increase their reading level. They want to have access to the exciting books that they know await them in the levels that they have not yet reached. Since receiving the books, more than one third of my class has moved from being below grade level in reading to being on or above grade level.
Again, I cannot thank you enough for the contribution you have made to my students' success in reading.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Marcus
