  • Charging Into Digital Learning

    Funded May 28, 2020

Thank you so much for your kind and generous donation. Our Tech Tub provides us with a safe place to make sure that our precious digital devices are charged. This year has been such a crazy school year so far. Almost all of our campus devices have been passed out to students for virtual, home use. The students who have chosen to come to class in person are left with practically no devices on campus. Thank goodness I have been able to get a handful of devices donated through donors, just like you. This tech tub ensures that we are able to stayed connected with our virtual counterparts and have some collaboration between in-class and virtual students. This tech tub is truly a blessing.”

  • Gamifying Education... Even The Most Reluctant Learners Love It!

    Funded Feb 28, 2020

Thank you so very much. Our brand-spanking-new chromebook was delivered to us this morning, right on time! We did a Gimkit review today and were able to utilize it in class. Thank you so much for investing in my students and the gamification of our classroom. Students are so much better at retaining important information when they are able to learn it while doing games such are Nearpod Time to Climb. Kahoot, Gimkit, Quizizz, etc. It brings out their competitive spirit! Today we utilized the team feature of Gimkit so they collaborated for their review as well! They were engaged, they communicated, and they worked so hard! Thank you so much, again, for being part of our project and bringing gaming to our classroom.”

  • Chromebooks... The Best Teaching Assistant To Help Special Needs Students

    Funded Oct 19, 2019

Thank you... a million times, thank you. With the addition of three chromebooks into our classroom, we have been able use technology with ease since we have devices to support students with no cell phones. We play digital review games. We take digital quizzes that have supports for students with disabilities. We research. Ultimately, we have better access to resources to help make ALL students in our classroom successful. I can speak for my students when I say that your donations have been such a blessing to our class. We use the chromebooks daily. Thank you for being part of that.”

  • Instructional Technology - Connecting Students With Professionals

    Funded May 13, 2019

Thank you so much for your generous donations of the webcam and speaker system to our AVID classroom. The addition of these supplies has made it to where we can utilize Nepris with ease. Nepris is a digital platform that allows students to "skype" with professionals in their fields of work. This has been of great value in our classroom. My students now know the day to day work life of many careers that they had never had exposure to. Moving forward, they may even choose one of these careers.”

  • Instructional Technology... Harry Potter Coding Wands Make Learning Coding Fun!

    Funded Mar 11, 2019

Thank you SO much for the amazing Kindle Fires, the super durable cases for them, and the awesome Harry Potter coding wands. I cannot thank you enough. The kids absolutely adore these materials. My STEM students have gotten so good at using them. This has caused us to be able to build some great connections in my classroom. I grew up in the heyday of Harry Potter. I absolutely love Harry Potter. I was shocked to see how many of my students that knew what Harry Potter was but had never read the books or seen the movies. This was a great was to build some skills... and relationships. Thank you so much for the opportunity.”

  • Engaging Families Through PowerMyLearning

    Funded Nov 29, 2018

Thank you so much for giving my students this opportunity to use PowerMyLearning which they never would have gotten. It has been a bit of a struggle to use since most of our students do not have devices or WiFi at home. Our students are socio-economically disadvantaged. This was a great way to pilot this with a section of our students in order to see if we would be able to use it with a wider scope of students without having to pay a significant amount of money. Thank you for providing us with this chance to use this program.”

  • Flexible Seating For A College-Like Studying Experience

    Funded Aug 6, 2018

Thank you so much for our AWESOME bean bags and the tennis balls for the bottoms of our chairs. The bean bags are a great touch to our classroom, and my students absolutely love them! The tennis balls help so much with transitioning between activities because our chairs are able to slide so much easier. Thank you so much for putting kids first and making our classroom that much more awesome! This year has been very difficult following Hurricane Harvey. These small additions to our classroom make our lives so much better. Thank you so much.”

    Funded Apr 19, 2018

Thank you so much for the incredibly generous donation that you provided of this Swivl unit. The possibilities are truly endless. We have just started playing with it and we are already blown away by its versatility. I cannot wait for next school year when we can use it for projects, and I can begin recording my class activities to share with staff and the students' families. There are tons of things that we can use this Swivl unit for around campus. Thank you so much for making this a possibility.”

  • Technology For Our Leaders Of Tomorrow - Hurricane Harvey Edition

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

Thank you so much for our incredible interactive projector set up! Although we originally requested a mac desk top computer, when it was unavailable, I was able to request this awesome interactive projector set up. The kids absolutely love it. They think that it's so cool that they can touch the whiteboard and manipulate what is on the screen! Thank you so much for helping to bring this technology into my classroom. I cannot wait to start next school year off with this amazing tool and see what all we can achieve with it!”

  • Positive Behavior Incentives For Hurricane Harvey Victims

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

Thank you so much for donating to our PBIS project in order to give our students positive behavior rewards for working hard and displaying good behavior. Following Hurricane Harvey, our students truly struggled to rebound. Although it is late in the year, these positive behavior rewards have already started working on the small scale. We are implementing the rewards with a few classrooms and will roll them our on the larger scale next year. Thank you so very for being part of making our school great and providing us with an opportunity to reward our kids.”

I am one of the AVID elective teachers on my campus as well as the AVID Site Coordinator. AVID is a class, but it is also a schoolwide program that utilizes a curriculum based on an acronym called WICOR (Writing, Inquiry, Collaboration, Organization, and Reading). AVID's mission is to close the achievement gap by preparing ALL students for college readiness and success in a global society. My students tend to come from socio-economically disadvantaged families where they are the first in their family to go to college. My students truly are advancing via their individual determination.
