A Place to Call Home
Funded Oct 18, 2021The students of room 830 and I are extremely thankful for your donations to our classroom. Hurricane Ida took out a lot of what made our classroom special and homey. With your donations, I was able to replace items that we lost and add some items that we have been wanting.
My students have very much so enjoyed the snacks and comfortable seating that this Donor's Choose was able to provide! They love having a place to come and enjoy learning. While I have been able to use some of the items to get our room back comfortable, some items have had to be on hold until our school buildings are finished with renovations. These items will definitely bring our room back to life once they are added back into the mix.
The students were very excited to see how much our local community cared as well as people who didn't have a direct connection to them. We are excited to build back both our classroom, school, and community and are thankful that you took the time to support us in our endeavors.”

We have enjoyed utilizing our sticky notes to annotate during our reading. These help to ensure that we are keeping track of important parts of our stories as we go. I have also been able to use some of the classroom decorations to get our room back to being the comfortable aesthetic we had pre-hurricane. While I have been able to use some of the items to get our room back comfortable, some items have had to be on hold until our school buildings are finished with renovations.
