We the People: A U.S. Constitution Resource
Funded Oct 13, 2014The computer arrived and we're astonished at the incredibly fast delivery. Wow! Now the students can get right to work researching relevant cases and the Constitution as they prepare for their debate team events. This is awesome! We are grateful to the Bill of Rights Institute for its vision and support of learning about the Constitution, one of the great documents of any country. There are amazing resources available online and we can visit interactive sites to work on our Bill of Rights projects. This is a formidable gift to any classroom and one that will enhance learning about good citizenship.
Thank you so much for supporting the study of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights!”

The design of this machine is compact, elegant, and fits perfectly on our computer desk. This "all in one" computer is just what we need to support our project based learning and now we have a computer that is fast, has numerous capabilities, and will be used promptly to develop our STEAM projects.
Thank you so much for your support. It has made a wonderful difference in our classroom, and so many students will benefit.”

Storing Student Work On External Drives
Funded Jun 7, 2014Our external drive and flash drives have arrived, and just in time! We are getting ready to launch our digital projects and the best way we can save our work is on the external hard drive or the flash drives. Now we can move from one computer to another and have the flexibility to develop our projects. This is an incredible time saver because we don't have to wait for any one particular machine to edit. Just think of how much work we will complete in a timely manner. Now project based learning has a whole new meaning to the class.
We are appreciative of the matching donation to this project and thank you for your generosity. This is such good news.”

Mrs. Alperstein
It's Time For Kids
Funded Jul 3, 2014Having current literature for students to read is essential. With Time for Kids you have brought age appropriate engaging real world literature through this magazine subscription. What an advantage it is to have a yearlong magazine subscription that will capture the students' interest. The relevant articles and opportunities for news analysis in an accessible format are key to enhancing students' understanding of informational text.
Thank you so much for your support of this proposal and for giving my students the gift of engaging reading for the entire year. This is so important and we are so excited. What a contribution to learning! Thank you!”

Mrs. Alperstein
LittleBits, Big STEM Dividends
Funded Aug 24, 2014LittleBits have arrived and already we are seeing the big STEM dividends. The excitement of LittleBits has sparked the students' imaginations and I am hearing many ideas as to what the students will create. I can't wait to see the students' creations. This is such an innovative resource that I can envision the students using LittleBits to create all sorts of new models for project based learning. Just think of the engagement while the students learn about circuitry and electricity.
Thank you so much for your support of our LittleBits! What an asset to the class and a yearlong contribution. Thank you!”

Funded Jun 9, 2014We absolutely love Model Magic. It comes in packets that are just the right size, in assorted colors, and is so easy to mold. We are discovering the properties of this wonderful sculpting material and it is the perfect companion piece for our art magazine. Now we can create 3 dimensional artworks using this colorful and easy to mold squishy material. Did you know it bounces? It also can be painted once it dries because Model Magic absorbs color from markers beautifully.
Thank you so much for funding our Model Magic proposal. Now we can put our ideas into sculpture. It is great fun and lovely to have the arts occupy a prominent place in our curriculum.”

Where ART Thou, Scholastic ART?
Funded Aug 22, 2014Absolutely spectacular! our first issue of Scholastic ART has arrived and it is a keeper. The articles, activities, art news from around the world, all provide insights while offering fascinating reading material on the high level my students deserve. This is a terrific gift to a class and we will now benefit from this subscription by having the new issues delivered all year long.
Each issue offers a wealth of activities and news that relates to the world around us. We live in New York City where the art world and museums have a powerful presence. What a great way to appreciate art with this magazine.
Thank you so much for your generosity and support of this project. Having individuals and the Gates Foundation Back to School support has made such a difference. We're off to a great year through the lens of art!”

Funded May 2, 2014The games arrived and immediately were taken out of the box. They were used immediately during recess and the students love them. The fact that we have several different games gives the students a variety of choices in which to be engaged. We have had a lot of rain lately and indoor recess now can include these games. It's wonderful that the children have an opportunity to enjoy recess with these excellent educational activities. What's more, they are fun!
Thank you so much for funding a valuable and fun resource for the students to use. They loved it.”

Paint It, Print It, Share It
Funded Jan 1, 2014We feel so fortunate to receive your amazing gift! Yes, amazing! Thanks to your support we are now able to create art projects and customize the size using the huge Kraft roll of paper securely locked in a stand for easy access, no small feat. In addition to being able to scale our artwork to size, we can now print companion pieces that student create in color with this terrific Epson printer. It's wireless so we can print from anywhere in the room. You have also funded the toner that will allow us to print in color for display throughout the year. That's a considerable contribution to our class. We're up and running, expanding the arts, writing and using technology, thanks to you.
Please know you have made a difference to this class of students, and to those in my future class as we continue to enjoy these wonderful resources. Thank you!”

Funded Dec 31, 2013The toner arrived, and just in time. The very day of the delivery of the package, a message came up on the printer that we were out of in. Amazing. We were in the middle of printing student work to display on our bulletin boards and in the hallway. What good fortune that the cartridges arrived when they did.
Thank you so much for this wonderful gift and for your support. Toner is so expensive and is critical to our ability to run our classroom. The toner that was purchased came in high yield cartridges that allow us to print a great deal more than regular cartridges, which contain much less ink. What a difference that has already made and it will allow us to run this printer for months before we have to purchase new toner.
Thank you again for this generosity. It's a gift that means so much to us.”
