Funded Nov 17, 2023Aloha! Mahalo and thank you for the art supplies like the air dry clay! My students were beyond happy upon receiving the donated supplies! Many cheered and clapped their hands when they saw the boxes of clay in the classroom! Every student looked forward to art class because they wanted to use their creativity while sculpting the clay!
We used the air dry clay to do a project based learning where students learned how to "Choose Love" by showing sculptures that represent caring and gratitude. Many students from Kindergarten to 6th Grade made sculptures like hearts, flowers, people, and friends to represent the topic of Choose Love.
My next steps is to continue inspiring my students from Kindergarten to 6th Grade by presenting lessons that tap into their creativity and imagination. Every lesson is a connection to their lives and imagination. With your donations, my students will continue to explore and use Fine Arts in their education. Thank you so much for your positive donation which has supported all of my students!”

This classroom project was brought to life by Hawai'i State Department of Education.Creativity With Watercolors!
Funded Mar 2, 2023Aloha! The students and I used the materials that were donated to explore and be creative with watercolor paints! The students were instructed to create original artwork that connected to their own wellness and well-being by painting a picture of what choose love means to themselves. Giving an open-ended theme gave students really the opportunity to explore, connect, and create original artwork.
"Watercolor paints? Yes!" many of the students enter my art classroom with excitement and eager emotions. They wanted to use the materials whenever they first see the donated supplies. I model with the students how to properly use the materials then I give students independent time to explore and create their paintings! Overall the students love to design, create, innovate, and publish their original artwork.
The next steps for my students is to continue completing their watercolor paintings. Also my students will continue learning how to appropriately use the art materials because it belongs to everyone in the school! Your generosity is sincerely appreciated.”

Funded Oct 29, 2022Aloha! Many times in life we have the opportunity to make a positive difference in students' education. On behalf of my students, thank you for being that positive contributor by donating amazing art supplies for my students! Many of my students used their original ideas in the theme of "choose love". Your supplies reached over 900+ students from grades Kindergarten to 6th grade!
Our students were in awe when they saw the boxes of clay and they were very excited to use the art supplies! I reminded the students that they have to create original ideas and make art sculptures that represents what they love. Students decided to make so many wonderful sculptures that represents love and happiness in their lives.
Many students made sculptures like hearts, flowers, their favorite characters, and or gifts for their loved ones. For example someone wrote "Mom" on their heart sculpture and planned to give it to their mom. Another made flowers because it reminded them of caring for loved ones. Others made their favorite characters of a story or cartoon because it reminded them of being happy. Overall the project was a success and we hope to continue making successful art projects in the near future. Mahalo! Thank you!”

The music recorders and music supplies helped bring forth creativity and love of music for all of my students! This project really brought excitement to many of my students during this challenging school year.
Students let me know that they miss their classmates. The music lessons we completed with the materials donated really helped the students connect with each other online. The students clapped for their classmates after playing the assigned tunes. They encouraged their classmates to keep practicing and they enjoyed listening to their peers' play music.
One of the best responses from the students during this project was "I always wanted to learn how to play the recorder! Thanks to all the donors who helped make it happen!" All of the students practiced online on how to play the instruments and they loved it!”
