Rocket Launch Learning, to Infinity and Beyond!
Funded Mar 24, 2014Thank you so much for all the support given, we have greatly excelled in this unit because of your dedication to us ! My students absolutely enjoyed every second of this project. Having the opportunity for my students to actually create and build their own rockets has been a wonderful hand on experience for them. They all took ownership on building and were very proud of their efforts. This part of the project boosted their confidence and made each student feel important.
After we built the rockets we painted them and decorated them individually. We then set out a day that all my classes could go outside and enjoy the rocket launch at last. This was the best day of their lives in school!! No one in school had an opportunity like they did, all the other classes were eager to see what was going on and how we knew how to launch the rockets. This project was a thrill for the whole school!
This project incorporated Newton's Three Laws of Motion and gave my students a real life experience on his laws first hand. This project motivated my students to learn everyday, they would rush into class just to get started on this project. This project was extremely exciting for all of us , teachers and students! Thank you again for all your encouragement and support for my students, we are so happy to have been apart of such an awesome project!”

This classroom project was brought to life by Disney and 5 other donors.Bud, Not Buddy
Funded Feb 3, 2014When you donated to our project, you gave an opportunity to my students that they are so grateful to have. When the box was delivered to our class my students were so excited and couldn't wait to utilize our new materials. Before our project went through i had about four Bud, Not Buddy books and we took turns as a class on who was going to be allowed to use them. One of my students were so excited to know that now everyone can have their own book to enjoy during the story. This made my day!
Currently we are using the books daily and I am teaching them reading and writing strategies and skills that coincide with the book. We are using the teacher support book and also using the NYS module activities. My students love this book and are really enjoying the characters in it.
This project has boosted learning in my classroom because they are reading a story that they can relate to and they enjoy it greatly. It is funny and very interesting for their age group. We are comparing and contrasting the characters to each other and ourselves for deeper meaning. My students get so excited to read this book everyday,we call it our book club! Thank you all so much we are truly thankful and appreciative for all that you have done for our class.”
