  • Beginning of the Year Basics

    Funded Dec 7, 2024

Thank you so much for your support of our classroom. The materials in this project are/will be used for a variety of resources ranging from instructional materials to organizing student materials.

One of the most useful materials from this project are the toothbrush holders. Each student gets a toothbrush holder to hold their pencils. It helps teach students how to be accountable and responsible for their materials, while also helping keep their supplies organized.

Another material that has been (and will continue to be very useful are the Scotch laminating sheets and sheet protectors. These are used for many things, such as laminating student materials and games so that they can reuse them again and again. Thank you again for your support!”

  • Bob Books for Radiant Readers!

    Funded Mar 20, 2024

My students have been working hard learning their letters and sounds in order to get ready to read books. We are finally at the point in the year where we are blending sounds together to read words.

My students were beyond excited when they saw our new set of Bob Books. Not only were the books new, but my students could actually read them! This helps build all student's confidence in learning how to read and helps instill a love of learning. As students keep progressing and learning reading skills, the differentiated levels of the Bob books will help further student learning in growing as readers. Thank you so much for your support!”

  • Happy, Happy Holidays!

    Funded May 29, 2024

Thank you so much for donating to this project! This project was special because I wanted these books for my classroom to help teach students about the diversity of a range of holidays that are celebrated throughout the school year. It is important that each student sees their culture and traditions represented in school, and this project helps to do that. Students have been loving voting for the book they would like to read about each holiday. Students have been more invested in learning about other holidays that they might not celebrate at home. I appreciate your support in helping this project come to fruition!”

  • Get Smart With Small Groups!

    Funded Nov 29, 2023

Thank you again for your support in getting materials needed for our Kindergarten classroom. This project had special meaning because the supplies that you helped us get were all supplies to support all students with learning how to read. My students are so excited to come meet with me during small groups to use our new resources. Even more exciting to me is that my students are so eager during reading time to read our new decodable books. They are so proud of themselves for being able to read them and I am so excited as their teacher that they are using what I teach them to read books independently. Thank you again for all of your support!”

  • Super Supplies for Small Groups

    Funded Aug 15, 2023

Thank you so much for your donation to this project. In Kindergarten, students come into the classroom in September excited and eager to learn. A big part of my job is helping students fall in love with learning, as for most students this is one of their first experiences in school.

The lacing letters and bananagrams tiles have been used for multiple purposes so far this year. Students have loved identifying letters and sounds using these materials. One group of students is using the letter tiles and race cars to segment sounds and build words that they can read.

The purpose behind all of this is again, to help my students fall in love with learning. These materials make learning fun and students can't wait to meet with me to see what we will do next. Thank you again for your generosity with this project.”

  • Manipulative Madness!

    Funded Dec 3, 2021

Thank you so much for your generosity in donating to this project! Our class has loved using the materials that were provided. The laminating pouches have been used to laminate center materials. Students love the variety of centers that I was able to laminate and get excited to learn math, reading, and writing skills. They get especially excited when I bring out the rainbow sprinkles! We use these for lots of different skills-from learning letter sounds to writing words. Another impactful resource has been using a mouse while students are on laptops. Developmentally, using a mouse is a lot easier than using a touch pad, so students are able to feel more successful at the task at hand and can enjoy learning while playing games!”

  • Reading, Reading, So Much Fun!

    Funded Dec 1, 2021

Thank you so much for your generous donation to our classroom. With the completion of this project, students were able to get more leveled texts for our classroom. Students have been loving the day that they get to shop for books! More books in our library means more choices for students to pick books from. This leads to higher engagement during reading and I can tell that the whole class loves to read and discover new books. Some students even have started recommending books to others! As a Kindergarten teacher, this is exactly what I want for my students-for them to love reading and the whole process of learning how to read and talk about books. Thank you!”

  • Dynamite Diverse Books

    Funded Oct 2, 2021

Thank you again for your generous contributions to my classroom. These books that you have helped me get for our classroom are extremely important to me. This summer, while in Professional Development, we discussed how students identify with the books they read. It was said that some students see books as windows, seeing into a world that they do not know and can learn from. It was also said that some books can be mirrors, where the experience and cultures from the book are mirrored onto the student that is reading them.

It was important to me with this project that my students don't just see the books we read as windows. Each child should be able to read and learn from books that they can identify with and find connections with. The books that were donated help convey a variety of cultures, ethnic backgrounds, and experiences.

One of my favorite activities I have done while teaching with these books is to spread them out across our classroom. Students were invited to pick a book to read that they identified with or shared similar experiences. It warmed my heart to see my class so excited not just to read, but to see themselves in each book. Thank you again for contributing to this amazing project!”

  • My Oh My! Morning Tub Madness!

    Funded Feb 24, 2021

Thank you so much for your generous donations to our classroom! This project was really important not just to the teachers, but all students as well. The Teachers Pay Teachers gift cards were used to buy valuable resources that were used across many content areas, such as Reading, Writing, Phonics Skills, and Math. The manipulatives that were purchased went hand in hand with the skills and strategies that were being taught to students. The great thing was that these resources were able to be used by both in person and virtual students this year! Thank you again for donating and thinking of us!”

My second grade classroom is made up of a wide range of learners. While each student has different needs, all students in our classroom work hard to be supportive and kind to each other. We spend a lot of time in the beginning of the year learning how to work together as a team. It builds a great sense of community in the classroom and creates a ripple effect with what we are learning! Students support and care for each other while becoming stronger readers, writers, scientists, mathematicians, and historians!
