My classroom is a melting pot of minds, a multi-cultural community where everyone is welcome. I teach the visual arts to a myriad of talented and unique students. My pedagogy is multi-sensory and interdisciplinary whereby all students are empowered to reach their individual potential, respect and value themselves and others, become life learners, and become curious about the world they inhabit. To achieve these objectives, I teach my students organizational, analytical, explanatory, and problem-solving skills embedded in art making activities. These focuses will transfer to other important areas of their lives beyond the aesthetic classroom. I believe art education can be a foundational component of a student's personal development regardless of age, prior experience, or ability. Art paves a path to self acceptance and self expression.
