A World of Possibilities!
Funded Dec 1, 2021Thank you so much for the amazing books. My students absolutely love the books about different occupations, and they love thinking about what kinds of jobs they can have one day. I want my students to be able to fulfill their biggest dreams. However, their dreams will be limited to what they are exposed to. Therefore, being able to introduce students to different careers is imperative.
In addition to exposing students to different careers, I also love having a plethora of books so that students can find something they like to read. Many students don't develop a love for reading because they are not exposed to books that interest them. I am happy these books will not only provide exposure to different careers, but they will also spark a love of reading.”

Funded Nov 18, 2021Thank you so much for donating to our color printer. It has made it much more convenient to be able to print in color from our classrooms. It may seem like such a simple thing, but having the ability to print materials in color has a huge impact on our students' learning.
Color printing is especially helpful when we are studying science. We are just beginning our plant unit and students get to see color pictures of what each step of the plant life cycle entails. This is especially impactful for our English Language Learners who need visual cues in order to learn the vocabulary. Seeing photographs in color allows all students to make important connections between concepts and vocabulary.
Not only does it help build our students' vocabulary and scientific understanding, color pictures also increase our their engagement. Seeing color pictures gets our students excited to learn and read. Thank you again for helping make our classrooms more colorful!”

Turn up the volume and turn up the fun!
Funded Nov 22, 2020Thank you so much for donating to my classroom. The week leading up to getting these my students were having a lot of problems with their old headphones. I didn't tell them we were getting new headphones because I wanted it to be a surprise. When the office brought the box to my classroom I opened it in front of the students and they all shouted for joy. Today was the first day we used them and the kids were so excited. They have been talking about their new headphones all day, and when they went to their cubbies to finally get them, I could hear them telling each other how much they loved the color and how cool they were. I heard a few of them say, "I can't wait to put these on! They are so much better than our old headphones."
I want the best for my students. Studies show that when kids exit kindergarten and are behind, they really struggle to catch up in their academic careers, and being behind in kindergarten greatly impacts how much money they will make in their lifetime. I work hard to build a firm foundation for my students so that they have a fighting chance in life. Thank you for helping me provide this! I truly appreciate your generous donations!”

Funded May 15, 2019Thank you so much for your generous donations! These paint pens make painting with 25 5-year-olds so much easier! I am now super excited to paint and am no longer worried about the paint getting all over our new carpets.
In our school district, we teach students about 6 different careers every year. The careers are based on 6 different personality traits. We start this in kindergarten so by the time the students get to high school and college, they have been exposed to many different careers thus making choosing a major or a trade school a bit easier. The pictures I am including are the students' favorite careers from the year. The students were very excited to use the paint pens to illustrate which career they felt most connected with.
I am thankful and excited to be able to plan more art projects for this year that will enrich my instruction and inspire creative expression in my students.”

Funded Jan 11, 2018Thank you so much for the hoop and 10 basketballs for our playground. Students screamed in excitement when we brought out the new equipment. They eagerly lined up to take turns at making shots with the balls. We are using our new hoop and basketballs primarily during PE and recess time. We want students to have a variety of activities to choose from during these times, and we were limited in our options before.
Without a physical education teacher, we are responsible for planning and providing opportunities for students to practice important physical skills. Now students have the chance to practice a variety of skills using the basketballs and most importantly, have fun doing it! This allows students the opportunity to practice gross motor skills such as bouncing, passing, and shooting. It is also a good opportunity to practice social skills like turn taking and good sportsmanship at recess and P.E.
We are planning to use the basketball hoop and basketballs every day during P.E to teach ball handling skills and teamwork. We will also incorporate these resources throughout the day for students to get practice with counting while they dribble. Sometimes students need a movement break and we will have students practice their counting while shooting baskets or dribbling the basketball to provide opportunities to get their wiggles out while practicing academic skills.”

Funded Jan 21, 2016Thank you so much for your generosity. I told my students that people they didn't even know cared about them and donated money so we could buy these super fun and helpful stools. Their faces lit up and they all started whispering to each other about how nice all of you are.
I have very high expectations for my students because I want them to enter 1st Grade with a strong foundation so they have the best chance at success in school. I strive to make learning as fun as possible while upholding my high expectations to help these kindergarteners fall in love with learning. It is imperative that students feel successful from the beginning of their academic career. These stools will fit perfectly into my classroom and help make students successful by providing an outlet for them to move around in a controlled environment, so they can focus on their work instead of focusing on sitting still. Even though we try to get students moving as much as possible, there are still times that they have to be sitting at their desks. The Hokki Stools will provide the ability to wiggle while they work!
These stools have positively impacted my students by allowing them the posture flexibility they need to stay focused. There are 25 students in my class and 2 of them need the stools full time, and the other 3 stools are rotated between students. The students are so excited when it is their day to have the "special seat." One parent even told me her daughter woke up super early the day she got to have the Hokki Stool because she was so excited about the privilege! Thank you for helping to make learning so much fun. It is the little things in life that bring these kids so much joy, and having a fun seat at school is something they can delight in!

Basketball for Kindergarteners
Funded Feb 20, 2015Thank you so much for your generous donations. My students were jumping for joy when they came to school and saw our basketball hoops. One student even asked if they were just for decoration or if we actually get to use them. We all had a giggle after that question. The first day they got to play was the day I took pictures. At the end of our day, right before dismissal, we always have a class meeting where we review what we learned and share our favorite parts of the day. On the day I introduced basketball, all of the students shared it was their absolute favorite part. They were all beaming from ear to ear.
There are 6 kindergarten classes at my school and we all take turns so that we each have a basketball day. The students look forward to their specific basketball day all week. We are currently working on shooting techniques and it is fun to watch the comradery that has already formed. While the other students are watching, they are cheering each other on when someone makes a basket.
This project has positively impacted my students in many ways. My students are excited about P.E. and the chance to practice their basketball skills. The shooting practice is helping with their fine and gross motor skills that easily translate into the classroom. Additionally, they are cheering for each other and sharing in each other's successes. This will translate into their education, as they need to be able to collaborate in order to be successful in our 21st century classrooms.
Thank you again for providing this fun experience for my students!”
