  • Read-Aloud Books & Basic Supplies

    Funded Oct 15, 2024

Thank you so much for donating to my classroom, and we have already put the supplies to good use. We used the pens to make a "Parts of the Pumpkin" art project. Also, my students have been loving all the Halloween read-alouds. They always say, "Mrs. Nelson, you have THE BEST books" and that is thanks to you!

Additionally, my students have been using the broom and the whiteboard erasers to help keep our classroom clean. They love having an active part in caring for our classroom--taking ownership helps create a sense of pride.

We have not used the squeegee yet because the mornings have not been damp, but I know as soon as we use it, the students will be thrilled that they can still use the slides on colder mornings!

Thank you so much for your contributions!”

  • Basic Supplies for the New School Year

    Funded Sep 9, 2024

Thank you so much for donating to my classroom. We have already put the supplies to good use, and now our classroom is very clean. I can tell my students take pride in having a clean and organized learning space.

We have also already had a few ouchies and the fun baindaids helped the kids stop crying immediately. A little ninja turtle souvenir has a way of making all things better.

My students have also been excited to get the candies as little rewards for knowing all of their letters and sounds. Thank you for providing incentives for my students.

Thank you so much for your contributions!”

  • A World of Color

    Funded Nov 24, 2023

Thank you so much for donating to our color printer. It has made it much more convenient to be able to print in color from our classrooms. It may seem like such a simple thing, but having the ability to print materials in color has a huge impact on our students' learning.

Color printing is especially helpful when we are studying science. We are just beginning our plant unit and students get to see color pictures of what each step of the plant life cycle entails. This is especially impactful for our English Language Learners who need visual cues in order to learn the vocabulary. Seeing photographs in color allows all students to make important connections between concepts and vocabulary.

Not only does it help build our students' vocabulary and scientific understanding, color pictures also increase our their engagement. Seeing color pictures gets our students excited to learn and read. Thank you again for helping make our classrooms more colorful!"

  • STEM in Kindergarten!

    Funded Aug 2, 2023

Thank you so much for donating to my project, STEM in Kindergarten. I hope these books will spark a love for science in my students. It is so exciting to see new children's literature that makes science, technology, engineering, and math more accessible for even our littlest learners. It is also amazing to see the representation in these new books as I want my students to see people who look like them in our read-alouds. I have already been able to read a few of our new stories, and my students have loved them!”

  • Snacks for my Sweeties

    Funded Jun 9, 2023

Thank you so much for your generosity. I told my students that people they didn't even know cared about them so much that they donated money so we could buy supplies for our classroom. Their faces lit up.

I have very high expectations of my students because I want them to enter 1st Grade with an important foundation so they have the best chance at success in school. I really strive to make learning as fun as possible while upholding my high expectations to help these kindergartens fall in love with school. It is imperative that students feel successful from the start of their academic careers. Thank you for helping me achieve my goals

While baggies might not be the most exciting gift to buy, I use them for everything. I organize my supplies with them so that I can quickly grab the needed items for each lesson. The treats will go a long way throughout the year to motivate the students It is the little things in life that bring them so much joy.”

  • Full STEAM Ahead With a Cricut Machine!

    Funded Dec 31, 2022

Thank you so much for contributing to our Cricut machine! My students absolutely loved making their thaumatropes. After we carefully planned and created our thaumatropes, we watched a video about why our eyes perceive the two different images as one image, but when we went outside to test the thaumatropes the kids kept yelling, "It's magic!" I was trying to remind them that it was actually science–but science is magical, so maybe they are on the right track!

This project could have taken over a week of our science time without the Cricut machine, but the machine made this project an easy 2-day lesson. All of my students kept saying thank you that they got to take their "magical" science project home!”

  • We Want More Classroom Decor!

    Funded Nov 29, 2022

Thank you so much for donating to my classroom. We have already put the supplies to good use. Even though it was the middle of December when the items arrived, my students begged me to read the book, The Very Last Leaf. It was adorable, and I cannot wait to read it to launch our fall science unit next year.

The lights that will go up throughout the year will add a sense of comfort and joy to the classroom. I know my students love when I put up special decorations, and I know the lights will bring them happiness.

The hand sanitizer and whiteboards will be used on a daily basis. My students love getting to use the mini whiteboards to show their work.

Thank you so much for your contributions!”

  • Kindergarten Classroom Contributions

    Funded Sep 5, 2022

Our custodian delivered the items yesterday. I opened all of the packages in front of the students, and they cheered for every single item! It was adorable! Each time I held up an item, they would shout "Band-aids! Yay!" or whatever the item was.

I will put the greeting cards, band-aids, and hand sanitizer to use right away. I love sending home notes with my students to let their parents/guardians know how much I love having them in class. The band-aids will come in handy as they are 5 years old and always come back from recess with little ouchies. Hand sanitizer is a MUST in a kindergarten class. We talk about how sharing is kind, but sharing germs is not. Some of the items like the step stool and the staple gun will be used later on in the year when I change the decorations in my classroom. Both of these items will be making life a lot easier for me when it comes to making our classroom look cute and themed.

Thank you so much for generously supporting my students. I truly appreciate your kindness!”

  • Tablet for Tykes

    Funded Jul 15, 2022

Thank you so much for donating to my classroom. I have always wanted an iPad, and even though we are only 9 days into the school year, I have already been using the iPad so much.

My wonderful classroom assistant has been able to assess the students on our online platform, while I am able to teach using my computer. In the past, I would have to plan a lesson without any technology when I needed to get my assessments done. Now I can have my cake and eat it too!

Additionally, my students have already used the camera function to take pictures around school. In the future, I will use this for science and social studies lessons, but for now, I let them take photos around the school, and then we talked about the school rules associated with each location they photographed. I think having students take the photos provided incentive and buy-in for discussing the rules.

Thank you so much for graciously giving to my classroom!”

I teach kindergarten in a low-income community at a Title 1 school. My students love learning and I feel it is my job to provide them the best education possible so they will have the keys they need to unlock their potential. In the classroom we work very hard and I would like for them to have an opportunity to have fun and play hard at recess, while developing skills that can easily transfer into the classroom. Additionally, a lot of my students do not have the opportunity to go to local parks or play with balls. A lot of them live in apartment complexes that prohibit noise so they do not have ball skills. I want them to learn how to play at school.
