My students go to school in the poorest county in the state of Florida. Consequently, resources are limited. However, I teach some of the greatest students who have overcome adversity in their lives that many people will never have to deal with even in their adulthood. I teach a very diverse group of 9th graders. Many of my students are on free or reduced priced lunch and are in remedial reading classes in addition to English classes to help them get ready for a successful college experience or career. It is my hope to play a vital role in helping them fulfill their dreams.
