Funded Feb 8, 2022I cannot thank you enough for your incredible donations. The art supplies made such a difference for my kiddos. They did lots of mixed media projects and honed some serious fine motor skills. They were so excited to see our giant package come in and we made a big deal out of opening it. It also made my life as an educators easier but having things on hand and ready to go. I wouldn't be able to do the things that I do in my classroom without help from generous people like you. So thank you so much for helping my students and I grow to love learning.”

Funded Sep 12, 2020Thank you so much for your kind donations. Teaching during COVID has brought about new sets of challenges that no one was prepared for. These math manipulatives made effective teaching so much easier. I was able to build appropriate math kits for my students that they could use at home and in school. They were able to have hands on instruction without being afraid of sharing with their peers. They loved all of the fraction circles and being able to truly visualize what they look like at their own tables. We used them daily to practice for SOL testing and benchmarks.
Thank you for all you do!”

Funded May 28, 2020Thank you so much for your kind donations! These materials made distance learning so much easier for my students and I. I was able to get them all the materials they needed in order to help them be successful in the midst of the pandemic. I was able to hand out the bags during our open house. Students and parents were thankful for the resources given to their family to help in at home learning. I was also able to use the left over resources in the classroom when I had students re-enter the learning environment. I was able to make things COVID friendly and functional for my students during this crazy time.
Thank you so much for all you've done.”

Funded Oct 21, 2019I am so incredibly grateful for your generous donations to my students. As technology is coming to the forefront of education, it is vital that we allow our students the opportunities to explore technology and learn how to use it wisely. I cannot wait to see the looks on my students' faces when they see what you have given to them. They will be able to work in groups more efficiently and do research in class that prepares them for middle school and beyond! I cannot thank you enough for providing my students with this beautiful opportunity.”

Funded Dec 23, 2018I cannot begin to thank you again for giving to my classroom. The majority of my students live at or under the poverty line so my main goal is to make my classroom feel safe and comfortable. With the addition of bookshelves, Flex Bins, and Wobble cushions, my students are beginning to really feel like this classroom is their own. We have our bookshelves and bins in the front of the room where they are easily seen and accessed. Each student has their own bin with all their materials inside of it to help avoid messy desks. The wobble cushions also have their own spot on the bookshelf to keep them organized. My principal has even stopped in to say that my classroom looks like a Pinterest classroom!
As a rule, I keep my Donors Chose projects a surprise for my students. They know something new is coming but they aren't sure what it is. Their faces lit up when they saw the bright blue book shelves, bins, and additional flexible seating. They were quick to help with setting the bookshelves up, labeling bins, and organizing materials so they looked neat and tidy. They took such pride in their work and in their classroom!
As this year goes on, we have slowly moved away from constantly being at our desks. I have another project up that I am hoping to get funding for so that my students have even more choice in how they would like to learn.
Thank you again for all of your love and support for my kiddos. They certainly feel it!”

Ms. Craig
Help Us Get Flexible Seating!
Funded Oct 23, 2018I cannot begin to thank you for the tremendous support you have shown me as a teacher. These new flexible seating options have been life changing for my students as now they are able to gain confidence in their choices and learn how to be responsible for their own actions. My students' ability to work together and independently has increased significantly due to having more comfortable seating to work with. I kept all of the materials a surprise for my students, so when everything arrived their excitement was through the roof. They were ready to help set everything up and were eager to use their new seats. The rug became the center of my classroom with a circle table I already had. This area became my new cooperative learning center for station rotations and for independent work. It is also where our wobble chairs live. Our yoga ball seats live underneath our class pet and are usually fought over since they all love to bounce and rotate during class.
These seating options are used primarily during quiet, independent work and during small groups to aid in focus and cooperative learning. I will often move my wobble chairs and yoga ball seats to my kidney table while working with small groups. The wobble chairs are also a hit with my special needs students. I have one particular student who can never sit still or focus in class. As soon as I allowed him to sit in a wobble chair during instruction he was a completely different kid. He was quiet, focused, and his grades increased tremendously. I have another student who has some behavioral issues and flexible seating has become a reward for him for A+ behavior throughout the day.
Having new seating for my students has been life changing for them. My classroom has become more like home and other teachers and administrators love to come in and see what my students are doing now. My hope is to transition my students out of desks and into tables and cooperative learning spaces by the end of the school year. I would love to transform my room into a fully functioning classroom with only flexible seating. I would not be able to achieve this goal without your constant support. Thank you, thank you, thank you!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Craig
