We Need a Table!
Funded Aug 23, 2018Thank you so much for your generous donations. My students and I are so grateful to reap the benefits of such thoughtful people as you all are! My students were so surprised to see a huge box delivered to the classroom. They could not wait to see what was inside and were curious as to what "present" they would be receiving for our classroom! The children were so pleased to see that we received a half-moon table. We use this table for guided reading, math centers, and as a space for "privacy" when some students want to work alone. The kids love sitting around the table reading books, and sitting on one our flexible seating options (wobble stool or bouncy chair). Thank you so much for donating! You helped make our classroom a better place and I truly appreciate it!”

Funded Dec 10, 2017Thank you so much to everyone who donated! My students and I are so grateful and we are loving the materials that were purchased for our classroom. My students were ecstatic and so intrigued when they first saw the materials. They could not wait to start using them!
We are using the flexible seating (bounce ball chairs and wobble stools) at our back table for guided reading and math groups. The kids are so excited to sit on these fun chairs as we work, as opposed to their hard chair at their desk. They love the opportunity to wiggle, bounce and move as they learn. It keeps them from getting restless and helps keep them engaged.
We also received dice that we use during guided reading, where the kids roll and have to answer the corresponding question. They love rolling, and it keeps them engaged and on task. We also received a Math game - Money Bingo! We have played this once so far and it is giving the kids great practice for this real-life skill that they need to master!
Thank you again! I truly appreciate your generosity!”

Ms. Ferraiolo
Please Help Get Us Organized!!
Funded Nov 19, 2016Thank you so much for donating to my classroom project! Your generosity and kindness are very much appreciated. We have been using all of the new resources from the moment they were delivered to our classroom.
The materials were delivered in huge boxes and had the kids so excited and waiting in anticipation for me to open them up and share with them what we received. They were in awe to see how many things were given to us by donations and were truly grateful that we would be able to start using all these new things.
We received write-on/wipe-off protectors, a large magnetic timer, and a storage cart with book bins. We use the protectors when we do math centers. The protectors cut down on the number of copies I need to make because the protectors allow the kids to reuse worksheets. The storage cart helps to keep our classroom organized. The students' desks are so small, so to allow for some extra space and comfort, we have stored books in the bins that we don't use everyday. The kids were most excited with the magnetic timer. They love seeing how much time they have left to complete an activity and this makes it clear for all to see. They also like when I ask them to start or stop it for me.
I full of gratitude and cannot thank the donors enough for choosing to help fund my project. Thank you so much!”

Funded Aug 2, 2016My students were so excited when I showed them the materials that were donated to our classroom. They could not wait to start using the math centers and the test blockers to help ensure privacy in the classroom during test taking and independent time. I explained to them what Donors Choose does to help teachers, students, and schools. They were amazed that people would give their own money to help get cool things for our classroom. We are so thankful for the donations that helped get our materials.
We actually used the math centers and test blockers today! The test blockers allow students to work independently and provide a nice barrier from the person sitting next to them. The kids have privacy while they are working in our small classroom. The kids love having them on their desks. During math centers, each group was so happy to be playing a "game" while reinforcing basic math skills that they need remediation in. Myself and my student teacher worked with two groups, while the other two groups worked independently. The centers are easy for kids to play on their own. The kids kept asking me, "Are we going to centers again tomorrow?!" They can't wait to use them again! :)
My students are currently working on multiplication and division arrays in Math, reading stories of all different genres in Reading, and working on the design process in Science. They really love learning. I try to incorporate as many hands on activities as I can. It really keeps them engaged! I recently submitted a new project on Donors Choose and am hoping people will be as generous as they were on my last project!
