• Empowering Special Needs Students through Financial Literacy

On behalf of our students, I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude for your generous support of our project, Empowering Special Needs Students through Financial Literacy. Thanks to your donation, we've been able to integrate sublimation supplies with our existing grant materials, bringing this initiative to life in ways we couldn't have imagined.

  The impact of your contribution has been profound. The resources have transformed our classroom into a dynamic, hands-on learning environment. Our students, many of whom face daily challenges, have found joy and purpose in creating customized products like T-shirts, water bottles, and tumblers. This process has not only taught them the fundamentals of budgeting, sales, and profit margins but also instilled a sense of independence and self-confidence that is vital as they prepare for adulthood.

  One of the most inspiring moments was when our students saw the sublimation supplies for the first time. Their faces lit up with excitement as they explored the possibilities. One student, Maria, who typically struggles with social interactions, proudly presented her first project: a beautifully designed tumbler she had created herself. The pride in her eyes and her newfound confidence were unforgettable.

  As part of a recent classroom activity, the students designed T-shirts to wear to our weekly community outings. They worked together to plan the designs.

• Learning and Thinking in a Relaxing Way

  I so pleased with the reactions that my students have had towards our calming area. They really have enjoyed using their new corner with their comfortable and appealing new bean bags. They enjoy the area so much. They like to go there to even do their work.

  So far every Friday, since we have fun Fridays, students like to lay on the bean bags and watch the fun Friday movie.

  This area is used through out the week in different ways. The therapists have also used to do their sessions with the students in the calming area.

  The soothing sounds resonating from the speakers have also been enjoyed by all. I am grateful and humbled to have the support of DonorsChooe to fund my ideas.

• Meal Prep on a Budget: How to Prep Healthy Meals

• Teaching On The Go

  It was because of your generosity that I was able to do work with amazing students this summer and help them complete their assignments. My students participated in a summer youth internship program that gave them hands-on experience in a real job setting. It was a 5-week internship program that also gave them a grade and they had to do assignments. I was able to use my laptop to facilitate instruction and help my students complete assignments during my visits at the various job sites. My students were placed in jobs around their community and during my visits we worked on the assigned projects. It was great having a laptop to take with me to help the students do their work. They had to create PowerPoints of their internship experience and without a laptop this would not have been possible since my students do not have devices at home. I thank you and I am sure we will put the laptop to good use in years to come.”

• We Are Creative, We Are Unique!

  Thank you for always being so generous. I am humbled by your generosity. My students were able to show off their skills designing their own water bottles, pillowcases and bag tags showing off their personalities in each one. This project helped my non-verbal students express themselves in their creative designs. They made drawings and uploaded unto Canva and printed on a sublimation blank that will last them a lifetime. They proudly bring their water bottles to school daily and show off to everyone what they did. These extra fun activities would not be possible if I didn't have your support. Most of my students are non-verbal and seeing them express themselves in their work is a teacher's best day.

• Sublimation Success in Special Needs Class

  I want to say thank you on behalf of my students and myself. My students have truly enjoyed their new bottles. Especially when they see that the design they are creating comes out of the printer and then they watch the bottle transform right in front of their eyes. Its been magical seeing their faces light up. Especially when they are choosing their favorite characters and their names on their bottles.

  It has been awesome. They really are enjoying the bottles and its changed the culture of the class because they are no longer asking to go to the fountain for water.
