Healthy Kids, Healthy Minds!
Funded Feb 18, 2017You made our classroom run much more efficiently with our Brita Water Filter Pitcher. Our classroom water fountain works but the water runs very low and close to the faucet therefore I deemed it unsanitary. A few students would bring in their own water bottles to make things easier. At times I would send a paraprofessional out to get filtered water from the Teacher's Lounge. Once we received the pitcher, my students were eager to drink more crisp, fresh water. The pitcher was very handy and allowed for an endless supply of clean water for drinking. After Zumba, after outdoor play, during lunch, after nap time, any time was perfect and made easy with our new Brita Pitcher!”

Funded Feb 9, 2017Thank you for making small and large group activities run much smoother. Students loved the tabletop supply caddies very much. I placed one in the art center and fill each cup with crafts and glue sticks. The second caddy was placed in the writing center filled with EXPO markers, erasers, pencils and pens. The purple pencil cases were filled with crayons from the Crayola box we received thanks to your donations. The children had never seen such a variety in color and loved using those crayons for Response to Literature work. Overall, the supplies allowed my students to experiment with various materials during center time and made clean up easier for everyone!”

A Whole Lot of English y un montón de español!
Funded Dec 23, 2016Ever since we received and added the two Spanish language floor puzzles to our library center my students have become more eager to go to the library during center time. The puzzles have helped them further develop their cognitive, language, and motor skills. They enjoy the size of the pieces and love working in small groups to put them all together. The Spanish language Dr. Seuss books, "El Gato Ensombrerado", "¡Oh cúan lejos llegarás!", and "Horton escucha a quién!", allowed me to seamlessly alternate the Dr. Seuss book readings each day in his honor during the Read Across America week. When we have time during pack-up, I take out our "Coleccion de oro Jorge el curioso/A Treasury of Curious George" book and pick up from where we left off the last time so easily. It is fantastic!
You have all made the language materials gap close. Our class now has a fairly equal amount of English language and Spanish language books, puzzles, and CDs!”
