My students are a diverse group of fifth grade kids who really enjoy to learn and interact with each other. We have a big population of Hispanic children, and it is very important for language learners to hear a story read out loud to them. This will help to break the language barriers that are often holding my students back from making proper reading growth. They are also bigger because they are in 5th grade, and they need a large carpet to accommodate the large class size. My students are excited to learn. Giving them an opportunity to sit back and relax during story time will have a great positive impact.
