I am attempting to make my room look like more of a "lab" space to help facilitate more student-driven instruction. Kids will be choosing texts to read, choosing projects to work on, and working together to make the projects happen. I want the room to look like a place where collaboration happens, which is why I am attempting to procure the lap desks for my classroom; if a group wants to set up on the floor or on the counters, more power to them! I want my room to look like a mini start-up where students are moving, teaching each other, and working together. ​So, out with the old desks, in with collaborative work furniture to help foster student participation, engagement, and creativity.
