Finding age-appropriate reading materials to meet their academic goals is a challenge, but with accessible materials and resources my students would have the opportunity to realize all the possibilities that education has to offer. These magazines will provide my students with access to approachable and age-appropriate science literature that helps meet their educational goals. This project will allow my students to explore accessible content at their performance levels that will engage them in learning and offer them opportunities that they would otherwise not be afforded. The magazines will be used to combine Common Core English Language Arts Standards with Next Generation Science Standards to offer my unique learners an opportunity for a multi-disciplinary exploration of the science domain. These magazines will allow my students to explore interesting scientific content that will promote engagement and participation, and build on their fundamental reading and comprehension skills.
