Funded Sep 20, 2019Thanks to your wonderful donations, my students have had the opportunity to expand on their learning of music due to the books, white boards, drums, and step piano we have received. With our white boards we have been able to play rhythm games, have everyone participate in answering questions, practice writing out music notation, and I have taped a music staff to one side so the students will be able to draw their notes. We also received dry erase sheet protectors the students can do music work on so I'm not printing out 500 sheets of paper a week!
The two hand drums we received will be a great addition to our growing amount of drums available. We used them to practice our rhythms. The younger grades have really enjoyed making music on our new colorful step piano. I'm still exploring other ways to incorporate this piano into a fun learning game where everyone will get a chance to participate.
I ordered a bunch of books for the class! I love reading, and I hope to expand my mini library even more. We started with "Allegro" by David Miles. It takes everyone on a classical journey through 11 masterpieces and is beautifully illustrated to help spike their imagination. The one thing my students loved the most about this book was that it played parts of each song. Some of them told me they had never seen a book like that before. I was shocked! The majority of them absolutely loved it. I have one more that plays music and a few other that have CD's to match. I can't wait to explore the other books with my classes! Thank you all again.”
With gratitude,
