  • Store It!

    Funded Dec 31, 2019

Thank you so very much for supporting this project! The seat sacks you helped to provide have already begun to make a huge impact on my classroom and its organization!

Having a non-traditional classroom setting is both a blessing and a curse! The round tables in my room lend themselves to natural cooperative and collaborative group work, which my students are engaged in 99% of the time! We were really challenged to find a way for my students to have access to the materials they need most of the time. When we found these seat sacks all of our prayers were answered! The seat sacks fit on the back of the chairs and my students now are able to house all of their most used materials. I cannot tell you how happy they were that you helped to fix our problem and improve their day-to-day comings and goings.

Thank you again for your generosity.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Gaiter

  • Time for Learning with an Apple Watch

    Funded Dec 6, 2019

Thank you so much for donating to this classroom project! My students and I are beyond excited to have this resource in my classroom.

When the Apple watch arrived my students were eager to learn how to use it! It is amazing how tech-savvy students are today! As I was reading the directions, my students figured out how to set up and work with the watch! I had to have them teach me how to use it! It was awesome!

We are in the process of downloading apps to use in Math and Physical Education, as well as a timer application for students who need to monitor their progress. The addition of this tool in our classroom is making a big difference already and we have only had it for a few weeks! I can see now I will probably need to get another one in the very near future!

Thank you again for your generous donation to our classroom.”

  • Fourth Graders Going for the Gold, Pt. 2

    Funded Sep 19, 2019

Thank you so much for supporting my classroom and my students by donating to this project. We are so very appreciative of your generosity.

In fourth grade, students focus and learn all about California. The gold rush is a huge part of our studies and having the resources to teach my students about this exciting period of time is key. Yes, we have textbooks, but having additional resources such as the books you helped to provide gives my students more opportunities to learn and grow.

My students have totally enjoyed learning about this era. One of the projects they produced was to make a brochure about the gold rush in California. With the help of the resource you provided they were able to create a factual piece of work that clearly showed their understanding of the period as well as let their creative juices loose! They had so much fun and learned so much! Thank you for being a catalyst in that learning.”

    With gratitude,

  • Fourth Graders Going For the Gold!

    Funded Sep 10, 2019

Thank you so much for supporting my students and my classroom by donating to this project. We are very appreciative of your generosity!

My students are a lively bunch and they love to read! While teaching about the California Gold Rush I knew that incorporating this novel would go a long way toward bringing this time period to life for my students. Having a book for each student was key and because of your kindness, each one of my scholars had a book to read and enjoy. I let me tell you they absolutely LOVED the story! As a result, they have researched the author and created a powerpoint presentation about him and shared it with our school community. They have been so excited to learn about this time in our state's history and having this novel really helped them realize just what it was like to live in that period of time.

Thank you so much again for your support.”

  • Math Time Can Be Fun Time Pt 2

    Funded Sep 30, 2019

Thank you so very much for supporting my students and my classroom by donating to this project. We appreciate your generosity very much!

Many of my students get very anxious when it is time for math. They have a mindset that it is hard and that they will never get or understand the concepts. That is why the materials that you helped me provide for my students are so valuable.

During math time, students participate in large group mini-lessons for content understanding, then are free to choose centers and games to help reinforce lessons learned. The games that this project provided helps my students to learn and remember math concepts while having fun. Learning through games is a great way for students to "loosen up" during math time. They are learning important concepts and are enjoying it!

Thank you for allowing me to provide these experiences for my students.”

  • Math Time Can Be Fun Time!

    Funded Sep 30, 2019

Thank you so much for supporting my classroom by donating to this project! My students and I are very grateful and happy!

When the Math games arrived my students screamed with delight! They could not wait to open the box and get their hands on them! We are starting to play some of them in small groups, making these students "experts who will teach their peers the rules of the game. This is an excellent way to develop leadership skills---while learning math!

The first two games my students are playing are helping them to review their multiplication facts and equations. They are having a blast...and practicing their math skills!

Thank you again for helping me get this resource for my students!”

  • Reduce the Noise, Increase the Learning!

    Funded Jul 11, 2019

Thank you so very much for supporting my classroom and my students with your donation to this project! Having these chair gliders has really made an impact in my classroom!

Every year at the beginning of the school year classroom floors are cleaned and waxed. Nice and clean and shiny!!! Because of your generous donations, my students and I were able to put these chair gliders on all of the chairs in our classroom, and three weeks later, our floors still look as nice and clean as they did on the first day of school! In addition, the gliders prevent noise when students move their chairs to work in different parts of the classroom. I'm on the second floor in my building, and my colleague in the classroom below me is very happy about this too!

Thank you again, for your generosity. My students and I really do appreciate it.”

  • Making the Literacy Connection in STEM, Part 2

    Funded May 20, 2019

Thank you for supporting my students and my classroom by donating to this project. We really appreciate your generosity!

Having literature books with characters the same age as my students that investigate and conduct science experiments is invaluable! As they read the stories, they see themselves and relate. Not only do they want to read more, but they also want to learn more! They are motivated to DO Science; replicating the activities that are in the stories, and coming up with their own questions and wonderings to investigate. They really do see themselves in these stories and it is a joy to see the happiness on their faces as they read them.

Thank you again for donating to this project. You helped to inspire a new generation of scientists and inventors!”

  • STEM Bins for Fourth Grade Engineers!

    Funded May 13, 2019

Thank you so much for donating to this project. My students and I appreciate your support!.

My students love Science! They love to ask questions, investigate and solve problems. The STEM Bins that were funded through this project are wonderful independent activities that allow my students to make discoveries that encourage creative thinking. The activities are simple, but not simple, as they have multiple solutions thus challenging my students to think differently every time they use one.

This resource is a wonderful addition to my classroom. Thank you again for your generosity.”

  • Reading in Blume, Pt 2!

    Funded Jun 18, 2019

Thank you so much for supporting our class by donating to this project. My students and I really appreciate your support!

I cannot tell you how much my students are enjoying this Judy Blume reading series! When they are in their groups they are totally engulfed in the story! The discussions they have are rich and they make so many connections to what is going on in their life through the story! In addition, since we are reading one book at a time, they cannot wait to get to the next book in the series! I have never had a class want to read so much!

Thank you again for your generous donations. You have helped to inspire a new generation of readers and we are forever grateful!”

My students are natural born scientists. They are curious about the world around them and are always asking questions. Our school is small--approx. 350 students, which is not the norm in California, with an amazing and supportive principal. My students are eager to learn--their brains are sponges that absorb any and all information given to them. Everything is a potential investigation/experiment to them so I strive to provide my students with as many learning and project based opportunities as possible to enhance the school curriculum and students' intrinsic motivation to learn more. We are a Title 1 school, but because of our size funding levels are not as high as other schools that have higher enrollments. With the help of parent volunteers and other sources, our school thrives and student achievement is high! We're the best little school in CA! We believe that the future lies in our children, that they have virtually unlimited potential and our job is to enable them to reach it.
