Blasting Off to Proficiency and Beyond!
Funded Oct 22, 2013When I told my students we were going to receive amazingly fun math materials to enhance their learning, they were so excited! I informed them that people all over the world want to help them learn. They were very appreciative of the gesture of others contributing to a class they do not know personally. Many students started to offer their own money from gifts or allowance they have saved in their piggy banks to fund a future project. This experience and your generations did not only impact student learning in my classroom, it left a great impression on my students. It taught them morals and values as well.
After receiving the materials, they were opened right away and put to good use. These resources have made differentiation of instruction more effective and organized. Students are able to work collaboratively and independently. The students absolutely love the hot dot pens, as it provides immediate feedback and allows students to work at their own pace and level. The Pick a Problem has also become a favorite among students. They are eager to stick their hand in to find a surprise question and work together to solve it.
As a result of receiving and implementing these materials, I have noticed an increase of love in learning math. I have also noticed that students' speed and accuracy has improved tremendously. My students and I would like to thank all of you for your generous contributions. The materials received will be put to good use for many years to come.”

This classroom project was brought to life by South Florida Kia Retailers and 3 other donors.Science Critical Thinking Resources
Funded Dec 21, 2012My students and I would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the donation we received. The materials purchased have had a major impact on our class so far. These materials have already been used the previous and current school year. The students and I use the materials on a daily basis for both academic and behavior modification use.
The students really enjoy the use of the Yacker Tracker, as it monitors the noise level in the classroom. On a third grade level, students find it to be very difficult to understand how noise level can affect the class climate and how distracting it could be for students who are trying to concentrate. During centers or cooperative group work, the students are able to work in a conducive learning environment by monitoring their noise levels. It provides both auditory and visual monitoring as the sirens signal if the noise level approaches an unacceptable level. The use of the Yacker Tracker has also increased the amount of instructional time needed in the classroom, as it has eliminated many behavior problems.
The science labs and materials received has benefited my students tremendously. Students are provided a hands-on approach to learning science concepts. The science curriculum has many gaps from the previous school year and with the use of these materials, it has closed many gaps. It has helped reinforce concepts that students may or may not remember from previous school years. Students also have the opportunity to work cooperatively with these materials.
Again, thank you so much for making a difference in my classroom! These materials will continue to be beneficial to many students in the upcoming and current school years.”
With gratitude,

Mrs. B's Classroom Management
Funded Mar 15, 2012Dear Donor,
Words cannot express the gratitude that I have for what you have provided my students. My students mean a great deal to me. The items that I was able to purchase have impacted student learning tremendously. Students can now better understand measurement concepts and the yacker tracker has been a lifesaver to protect instructional time. The items purchased will be used for many more years to come.
Again, I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving back to education.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Fernandez
