Flexible seating allows students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them. Making sure students are comfortable is an essential component in motivating them. When my students are allowed to choose where they sit they are more engaged in their work. Using clipboards in various areas around the room is a huge motivator for my students. They can work in small groups or choose a comfy quiet spot under a table or tucked away in a corner of the library. I hope with the addition of this flexible seating it will help my students grow even more.
